Hemmings~

I tapped the eraser of my pencil in a dull beat against my desk as I stared out of the window, watching two raindrops race down to the bottom of the window sill. I was an aspiring writer in college, all I ever wanted to do was be an author. I passed every AP English class with flying colors and you could hardly get me away from a good book, but lately, I had been in a rut. I had lost my muse after I moved from my hometown in Australia all the way to California to attend college here and to say I was experiencing writer's block was the biggest understatement of the century.  You'd think moving across the world would give me even more inspiration to write huh? Yeah right. I couldn't even think of a plot, let alone right an essay for my writing courses.

I had been in my creative writings class when he stumbled in, my eyes, as well as everyone else's trailing to the door where a small, curly headed boy had just stumbled in. Everyone else in the class might've thought him weird, or disregarded him. I found him absolutely breath taking. He clutched his book bag to his side, stuttering out apology after apology to my professor who simply just smiled. Even from where I sat I could see how soaked he was, his damp curls sticking to his forehead and his sweater-clad figure shaking slightly. Absolutely beautiful. That's all I could think. My professor took a break to talk to the gorgeous boy, and I hadn't even realized I was staring until my best friend, Calum, nudged my side.

"Ow!" I hissed and frowned looking over at him, with a pout and he laughed at me. "What was that for?!"
"You were staring dude, I thought I lost you to aliens." he chuckled and I blushed shaking my head and mumbling for him to shut up. Calum had been my best friend for seven years and he's the closest thing I've got to a brother. He knew how badly my writer's block was hitting me and had tried countless times to cheer me up but to no avail. I appreciated his effort nonetheless, just like I appreciate everything he's done for me. I was about to come back with a snarky remark when I heard the door open and turned just in time to see the curly headed angel walk out of the classroom as I stared after him, wondering when, if, I'd see him again.
"Lu...?"  I turned to Calum with a small grin.
"I think I've found my muse."
