I walked through my shared apartment door, seeing the light in the living room on so I assumed Ashton was home, grinning I sat next to him close enough to peer over his shoulder, seeing he was texting someone and I bit my lip. I didn't know he made friends already, I thought, feeling jealousy spark through me.
"Whatcha doin cutie?" I said in my most endearing voice, it just seemed Ashton never picked up the hints.
"Just texting a friend I met the other day." I was shocked he even got a whole sentence out, even more the smile that graced his face was one I've never seen before. A smile you get when thinking of someone special. I glanced at the phone, biting my lip.
"Who?" I tried to sound casual but Ashton just rolled his eyes in a friendly way of course, Ash wasn't capable of being mean.
"None of your concern Al, just a friend." I watched him stand up and walk to his room and I stayed in my spot, an arm around the back of the couch is bit my lip, determined to find out who was stealing Ashton's heart.
Hemmings~
I hummed walking around the kitchen, a mug of coffee in my hand, a book in the other as I made my way to my couch. I had an off day today which I was thankful for because I needed the time off. I sunk down into my couch with a relieved sigh, only to have my mood ruined by a knock on the door, I glared slightly, groaning and standing up opening the door to Michael and I'd never wanted to kill Calum more. Of course on my off day he'd invite his boyfriend over without even saying anything. I knew Calum probably didn't mean to, but still. I sighed.
"Hey Mikey, Calum's still sleep but just go right in I guess..." I scratched the back of my head, opening the door wider for him. He thanked me and waved, meaning I had about ten to fifteen minutes before they started going at it.
I rushed to my room, pulling some black skinny jeans on, some brown suede boots, and a t-shirt, throwing my baggy denim jacket over it before grabbing my book and journal and heading out.
-------
I walked around campus for a little while until I had found the bench I sat at with Ashton over a week ago, I smiled at the thought of him. I always smiled when he came up, he was just so, angelic. I sat down with my long legs crossed on the bench, leaning against the wall while I read. I had been reading for around thirty minutes when I heard a small click, and a flash go off. I looked up a little startled before seeing the curly headed boy himself and I smiled softly, he was blushing madly and I guessed it was because he hadn't realized the flash was on, I closed my book, keeping the slight grin on my face."D'you just take a picture of me?" I chuckled slightly, tilting my head with a friendly smile. He looked even more beautiful with his glasses perched on his nose, a burgundy sweatshirt adorning his small body and black skinny jeans like mine on his thin legs, he wore tattered black converse and it just seemed, surreal. He was stuttering out an apology when I cut him off.
"Ash it's ok." I giggled, giggled. I shook my head slightly, uncrossing my legs and scooting over so he could sit by me.
"Can I see it?" I bit my lip looking over at his blushing figure.
"Y-yeah- sure- of course." I smiled at his improved English, he was so cute with his Italian accent breaking through the words and he over all just sounded adorable. He fiddled with the camera for a little before handing me the very expensive looking piece of technology, I took it from around his neck carefully, noticing just how, beautiful, his eyes were. A true green, with brown and gold flaking his irises. I'd almost lost my breath again. I blushed a little realizing I was staring and leaned back a little to look at the picture. My eyes widening seeing as how he made such a simple picture look almost as beautiful as he was.
I hadn't even noticed the beauty of the place I was sitting in, the tree's vines and leaves and branches all hung around my figure, dew drops still dripping off some as I sat in the middle of it all, my face buried in a book and I had wondered how me managed to make me look this good, I handed him back the camera with an awestruck gaze.
"A-ash that's wonderful!" I smiled brightly, he just blushed and shook his head.
"No! No I'm serious Ash! That's like- how did you- You're so good! A-amazing even!" I chuckled, biting my lip to stop my rambling and I had noticed he was blushing more and twiddling around with his camera. I stood up which seemed to catch his attention and held my hand out for him.
"C'mon, let's grab a coffee from the deli yeah?" I bit my lip hoping he'd say yes. I felt his small hand in my own and smiled wider, grabbing my book and walking hand in hand with Ashton to the deli.
-------
We arrived at the New York Deli in downtown where we lived and I sat us down in a corner booth by the window. The place had a very relaxing, jazz vibe to it. It looked like the type of place to a hold a weekly poetry slam. It had beige-light yellowish walls and brown leather seats, a stage set up towards the back of the small deli where there was stage lights and people got up to sing karaoke sometimes. There were hanging pots with plants in them, as long as placed in random places throughout the deli and dark wooden tables with metal legs In between seats. The windows had curtains that were pulled back at each one and over all the deli was just cute. I was actually good friends with the owner so this was by far my favorite place to eat, or read, or write, or be.I sat across from Ashton with a huge smile on my face, seeing the way he was twiddling his fingers on top of the table I reached over gently placing my hand on top of his, making him look up at me with red cheeks.
"You know you don't have to be nervous Ash." I grinned, the corner of my mouth turning upwards slightly "Tell me about Italy."
I watched carefully as Ashton's eyes lit up like sparks had just been lit off behind them. Talking about his hometown seemed to make all his worries wash away, I couldn't even help but stare at the way his mouth moved, or his adorable facial expressions while talking. I thought it absolutely adorable when he scrunched his eyebrows, trying to think of the right word to describe what he meant, every so often I'd chime in and help him but I started staring at his eyes again and, wow, you could find the entire galaxy there.
"-Luke? Luke." His voice snapped me out of my gaze and I blushed sitting up and clearing my throat.
"Yeah? Sorry say that again." I bit my lip, listening to him get right back into a story about him and his siblings when they were younger.
And if I was secretly thanking Calum for inviting Michael over without telling me, no one had to know.
And I decided Ashton didn't have to know that I got the biggest pit of butterflies in my stomach just listening to him speak, either.
At least not yet.
