The giggling wind bristled as it glided past the small settlement of Quive. The breeze was gentle and tender as it brushed past every smiling face underneath the golden sun. The suns sunken eyes were glazed as it reflected the joy of the townsfolk.

Quive had a small population, around 26 adults, 15 children and just 18 teenagers throughout the village, they also spoke English as their main language but would switch to Japanese and occasionally Chinese. Their currency was also that of the English for they used pounds instead of dollars or yen. Huge, brightly painted walls surrounded the city, accompanied by a wide river that joined to the ocean, of which was a good 500 miles away at the very least. The buildings were bright and every citizen was smiling. For people were always happy here.

Because there was no fear or poverty, starvation or drought. Just welcoming faces filled with kind spirits.

Many of the people who lived here were reluctant to leave, however, bit by bit they were starting to realize that the outside world was more than just a playground for the more powerful. They were starting to realize that everyone had rights to go into that playground and, well, play.

On the other hand, Indigo Abigail Darkthrope, Miku Annabelle Darkthrope, Tristan Kyle McNeil and Michael Bryan Buckwheat were all against leaving. The outside world was evil; filled with hate, misery in fact...At least in their eyes it was. Inside the colourful walls was where they grew up, where they became who they were, where they became friends and where they were safe.

Indigo and Miku were sisters, living peacefully under the same roof, paying rent with a half on half deal. Indigo was just a child at 10 years of age. Miku was 14 years of age and was considered the "adult" of the house, even though she was just leaving childhood behind. Both of them had jobs and therefore could not meet up with Tristan and Michael everyday for they were much too tired. Indigo's job was at the bakery, she brought home about £25 if she did a good days work. Meanwhile, Miku did two jobs. One of them was a waitress at a restaurant called "The Dancing Ferret" which she got £32.80 from if she worked her usual 8:00pm to 12:00am shift. Her other job was one that was a great deal easier, even though it was practically the same, just a different location. The second job was as a errand runner. People would give her money to buy the items they wanted or needed. After giving them the collected goods and altogether she would make a profit of £25. The rent for their moderatly sized apartment was £45 per month. That's £45 a month if nothing needed fixing in which case it would take about £80 per month.

Tristan and Michael were like brothers and acted like bretherin aswell, although they weren't actually related. Michael had come from the world outside the walls and Tristan was born in Quive, so they both had very different backgrounds. Tristan was unnerved by the happiness that continued to spread like some disease. Disease was a word that Michael would say "described it to perfection" but he couldn't get his friends to think the same way he did so he always kept the insults to their home PG rated...Even if it didn't settle with him well. Tristan worked as a waiter at the same restaurant as Miku however he got paid less beacuse he did less hours. 7:00pm to 8:00pm would earn him roughly £8.20. Michael no longer worked as his temper always ended up getting him fired. Alternatively he worked when he wanted to and took up the simply tasked jobs like, mowing somebodies lawn for a tenner or helping to look after animals for £15. In other words, Michael was a freelancer.
