Sorry for the wait and I don’t really have an excuse apart from being ill and revising and more revising so I’m reeeallly sorry!

:D:D:D:D:D:D

We were all crowded round in the girls’ tent now, opening my presents before we headed out to the big game. So far I had opened Hermione and Ginny’s presents. Hermione had gotten me a book on wizarding arts and Ginny had gotten me a photo album filled with photos from over the summer.

I opened Ron’s next and inside was five packets of red vines. I thanked him and put them aside for later. I continued opening and receiving wonderful gifts: Harry had gotten me a jewellery box so when it opened there was a ballerina dancing around while gentle music played, Fred said he’d forgotten his and he’d give me it when we got home but I knew he was lying and so did George, Cerise and Rosie gave me a beautiful white dress that reached to the top of my knees and I hugged them both. Mr and Mrs Weasley gave me a selection of cupcakes and then it was time for Malfoy’s.

I opened it and it revealed a single bracelet with two wires entwined; one green and one red.  Along the bracelet were a few small charms; there was a snake, a lion, a heart and a locket with a photo of me and Malfoy and a small folded up note. I smiled at the beauty of it and opened up the note:

Rebecca,

Things may change soon but I want you to wear this bracelet always to remind you of how you changed me and how we proved that Slytherins and Gryffindors can be friends. Happy Birthday and I’m sorry for the future.

Draco.

I read the note over and over again. I didn’t understand most of it so I decided I would talk to him about it later. I still put on the bracelet, though. It fit perfectly. I looked to George who was glaring at the bracelet. I nudged him then and he handed over his present.

Inside was a video. I looked at it curiously, and looked to George. A single label on the side of the video said ‘For my beautiful girlfriend on her birthday.’ I smiled and hugged him.

“I’ll watch it as soon as we get home.” I promised him with a smile. With that, we all headed out to the quidditch world cup!

It didn’t take long before we were in our seats at the top box and I’d raced Cerise and Rosie to the top to see who was fittest. It turned into a game of who could play dirtiest and turned out, after she pushed us down the stairs more than ten times, Cerise was. I finally reached the top box and bumped into somebody taller than me. I almost fell back down the stairs when I was caught by the figure.

I looked down to see a pale hand on my arm. I recognized that pale hand. My head shot up. His eyes were fixed on the bracelet around my wrist.

“Malfoy, hi.” I greeted him. I expected a snarky response or a perfectly normal ‘happy birthday’ but instead I was given a short, sharp nod and a cold look. With that, he let go of my arm and joined his father who was talking to the minister.

A cold chill ran down my spine when I saw Lucius Malfoy. I swallowed and looked to Cerise and Rosie who had noticed my encounter with Draco. Both Cerise and Rosie came and stood protectively by my side after following my gaze.

Lucius eventually noticed the new arrivals in the top box and came to ‘welcome’ us. He approached and I immediately tensed up.

“Why? If it isn’t my favourite friend of Draco’s.” He emphasized each syllable, which seemed to add a bitter and frightful tone onto such a simple phrase.
