Chapter 2

*****Nico's POV***** A/N please comment and vote I'd love to get feedback and see if people like my story so far. I will be switching POV's between Nico and Michele a lot and the there will be conversations between the characters and their wolves. ***Picture of Nico in wolf form****

I smelled her as soon as her family pulled into the gas station across the street.

"Mine!!!" my wolf snarls at me. What? "The female is Mine!" Well fuck looks like we got ourselves a mate. "Yes, Yes, she's mine" Alright chill Fido. My wolf growls at me, as I laugh at his reaction, she walks in. Her scent is the most wonderful thing I have ever smelled. She smells like lilacs and honey. I quickly turn on the security cameras that are rarely used. Then, I saw her. She was even more beautiful than I could've ever imagined. My wolf sighed in contentment at seeing his soul mate. She's not a wolf is she? I ask my wolf cautiously. "Nope, not yet, but she's mine. I am hers," Well that clarified why I didn't seem and wolf sent on her other than her parents sent. "We have to see our mate. Now," I get up and walk out of the security room as soon as I heard her rang the bell. He dazzling blue eyes met mine and I knew that I had to mark her as my mate. I rung up her items in a daze until I got to the necklace. I didn't recognize it as anything that was sold in the store, but I did recognize it as a charm to keep away any dangers that might threaten an alphas pack. I instantly knew that she was to be one of the next alphas . Growing up in a pack I learned that only future alphas can find charms that will be helpful. Then, she told me she was on her way to California, but she didn't know that she was there already. I watched her walk out to go tell her dad. Damn she got a nice ass. I thought to myself as my eyes wandered to her backside. She came back in to get her things and I panicked. I quickly wrote my number on the back of her receipt. She walked out of the little store and drove off with her family.

"We have to tell Alpha we found our mate," my wolf said solemnly. I went out the back of the store into the woods and pulled off my clothes before I shifted. I always felt better in this form. My wolf was finally able to run, which gives us a sense of freedom that we do not feel in our human forms. I am larger than most other wolves in my pack. Standing at a height where my head would be past the shoulders of a horse. I tower over my fellow wolves. But my height isn't the only thing that separates me. Most other wolves's eyes change color when they shift. Mine do not. They stay the same bright blue as in human form. I quickly and silently dashed through the woods at a speed that a human wouldn't be able to see. The pack house was about 6 miles from the store that I worked at. I shifted back to human form as I approached the house. We hardly bother to put clothes on after we shift unless there is guests. I walk into the sitting room where Alpha was waiting.

"Alpha," I greet her and lower my head in submission.

"What is it Nico?" she responds tiredly.

"I have found my mate, although she has not yet shifted," My alpha sighs standing up and walking over to a picture frame I have never noticed before. She picks it up and shows me the picture. I gasp at the sight of my mate.

"Is this her?" she asks.

"Yes Alpha," I respond still dazed.

"She is my granddaughter, and the next alpha of our pack," Alpha says calmly. I stand there dumbfounded as I try to process everything. I have an Alpha for a mate. Everything just doesn't make sense to me. Why would the Great Spirits choose an Alpha to be my mate? A beautiful one at that.
I was so lost in thought that I didn't hear the vehicle pull up the drive way.
"Nico, put some clothes on. My granddaughter is here and it wouldn't be wise to let her see you naked. She has no clue about her werewolf lineage." I do as my Alpha instructs and quick and swiftly untie my shorts from my ankle and put them on. I just finished putting them on when I wanted her family enter the house. I did not smell her though. I looked at Alpha bewildered.
"She's still in the car," she explained as she walked out to greet her family. I followed behind her hoping that my mate would come in. "Emma! Daniel! It's been too long,"
"Mom! It's so good to see you. You look great!" Emma squealed at her mother the alpha. Emma was supposed to be the next alpha, but she unfortunately didn't inherit the alpha gene. That's why her and her mate Daniel left after they found out she was pregnant. They thought that their pup wouldn't inherit the gene. Emma notified use a few months ago that their daughter my mate possessed Alpha traits even though she has not yet shifted.
As Emma embraces her mother she finally notices me leaning against the wall casually. " Well if it isn't little Nico all grown up," she smiles warmly at me. Alpha pulls out of her daughters hug and looks her in the eyes.
"Yes he also happens to be your daughters mate. You must tell Michele about her lineage. Tonight, " she says the last part in a command. Emma looks at her mother with a hard to read expression. She doesn't say anything as she nods her head turning around to go get her belongings.
My mate walks in as her mother walks out. She stops as she sees me.
"Um hi, " I greet her somewhat awkwardly. I smile at the blush that slowly creeps on her face.
"Hi, Nico."
