I know its been basically years since I've updated, but I can explain.  Well, I dont really need to actually, do I? The only thing you guys need to worry about are my updates! Which I am happy to say will be roughly every weekend, but I can't say for what day or story exactly. Just keep an eye out for those notifications! And as for the picture, its for a visual of certain things to come in this chapter. I blured out the logos just incase, but if you know what these are already/what the logo is, congratulations,  you're as much of a gaming nerd as I am! On that note, I dont own anything I make references to.

"Come on, think about it!"

Takahashi had stood up from his desk, catching the attention of the whole classroom. I cringed at the secondhand attention/embarrassment I was getting from him and looked at the window, covering my face with my hand to say 'I dont know this guy.' Discretely though, I watched him rant by looking at his reflection in the window.

He holds the book up in the air for all the class to see "The Great Gatsby is a classic! Wild parties, forbidden love, totaly original characters by the famous Fitzgerald just makes up one of the greatest books you could ever read! And may I mention that after reading the book, we'll all watch the movie which has Leonardo DiCaprio playing Gatsby himself!"

The passion in his voice was clear as crystal, and with the mix of the charisma he already had, made the whole class gawk at the senior, some even nodding in agreement. It both amazed me and annoyed me that so many people can fall for sweet words like that.

The teacher, Ms. Smith, smiled at Drew and applauded him "Well said Mr. Takahashi, well said! And he is correct class, after we complete reading the book, we will watch the movie and talk about the similarities and differences of the book to the screen."

I stopped paying attention to her and swatted Takahashi on the arm when he sat back down. He looked at me, baffled. "What was that for?"

I frowned at him "Dude, you constantly give me secondhand embarrassment when you do that stuff, just stop it!"

His expression slowly changed to a smirk and he chirped "Sorry, Reyes, but I'm not changing that anytime soon!" He looked back at the teacher, scribbling down notes as she kept talking.

It's been two weekes since the car incident and my life was becoming slightly less crappy by the day. Yeah, there's always the football jocks here to deal with, and my parents at home who constantly use me for a punching bag, but since Takahashi started talking to me, Bryan and Tucker seemed to get off my back. At least when Drew was around.

Home is actually easier to deal with now because instead of having nowhere else to go after school, I just head straight to the bar or the cafe to hang out with Jae, Mira and the others. Despite all of them being absolutely crazy, they all made pretty good friends once I got to know them.

Jae, Mira, and Mark have been friends the longest out of everyone, apparently because their parents worked close together. I finally understood why Mira sounded so familiar to me; her and Mark's parents were the same Halestroms who practically monopolized all the apartments and real estate in a 50 mile radius of Gadget City and who's company influence is scattered throughout the United States.

It took alot of bugging, but I finally got Jae to open up about his parents enough to find out his mother was a fashion designer and his dad worked for a huge trading company that did business with the twins' parents, which explained why the three were so close. Each and everyone of them, they had to be so freaking loaded!

Which begged the question of why these heirs and heiress would want to stay in Gadget and run some small businesses like the bar and cafe.

The day I asked that, they looked at eachother with knowing smiles, before Mira answered "We never really saw the point of everything else." She gestured to the cafe which we were in at the time, a nice place that was small enough to be welcoming and cozy but large enough to hold big events.
