- By Panic! At The Disco
To be honest, I made this chapter name up and my best friend saw it and said it sounds exactly like a song P!ATD would make. And I agree.
But anyways, HELLO EVERYONE!!! So, there will be a new character (as you can tell) in this chapter and yes, I realize who I'm using as the model, shoutout to the TMI fandom! Who else is ready for Shadowhunters season 2? I don't think I really have anything to say for this chapter so.... I don't own anything I make references to!
Reyes
---------When Jae said it was going to be a long night, he wasn't kidding. I was on my feet constantly throughout the day, and by the time I sat down, the sky was already dark. As I looked around, I was noticing alot of the people from before were undergoing their 'transformations' I guess that is the best word to use.
I never knew make-up could be used in so many different ways. Usually I just see the popular girls at school wear the stuff like clowns, but these people here make it look almost like natural. Most I noticed used eyeliner to make their eyes pop, their blush and stuff looking like actual skin, and some even seemed to alter their bone structure with just a few blends and strokes.
It was a more complex process than I ever could've imagined, and I was impressed.
Mark had left and went downstairs to the bar roughly an hour ago, so that I knew of, I was the Only person in the above ground building not getting ready for the show. My question was what do I do now?
"Hey, Reyes!" A familiar voice called out for me. I looked around to find the source and saw a breathtaking woman walking twords me. Her lips were light pink and pronounced, her almond shaped eyes were bright hazel and had smudges of blue around them. In her silver mini dress and shoes, she looked like a model. At least, I thought it was a she.
Taking a closer look, I recognized certain things in 'her' appearance, including the height, the shape of the face, his hair was still the same color as earlier, and the voice, though sounding slightly different definitely belonged to-
"Jae?!" I gaped openly at his appearance. Granted I knew I shouldn't have assumed it was a girl, but I had never been here on show days, so I had never seen Jae in his actual outfits. And wow, Am I actually kind of regretting not coming sooner.
He smiled at me and put his hands on his (wait, her?) hips "What do you think, too much?"
Taking in all of his image again, I found the will to slowly shake my head "Not at all. Jae, you're... you're a knockout!"
He grinned wider before putting his arms out and taking me into a hug. He smelled like sweet perfume. "Aw, Thank you!" He chirpped happily before letting me go and skimming me over "You know, if you let me, I could probably whip something up for you tonight!"
I shook my head at the offer "Thanks, but no way. I think I'm fine dressed the way I am." He shrugged it off and smiled again "oh well. Can't say I didn't try."
He looked up and over at the far wall where a clock was reading seven twenty-something. I don't know, I'm not the greatest with analogue clocks.
"Alright ladies and gents!" He called out to everyone who stopped whatever they were doing to listen "We've got 40 minutes before we start, and the people are going to start coming any minute now! Look alive, its Showtime! Put on any more finishing touches or last minute changes in the dressing rooms. Those of you on duty tonight, come back out and help set up some final decorations!"
Everyone shouted in agreement and understanding before shuffling around to their proper areas. Jae turned back to me and rubbed the back of his head, messing his mop of cherry hair up even more "I have to finish getting ready now. You don't have to stay if you don't want to. You can always go downstairs or..." he stopped, as if thinking "just do what you're comfortable with." He finally said before patting my shoulder and sauntering off.
