Jessie was pregnant when she was 16. Jessica adopted two girls when she was 18. This is the story of them raising their kids. (If you didn't read my other book Alive you might be confused)
In three days Chloe is turning 15! I need to find out what she wants for her birthday.
"Hey Chloe guess who's birthday is coming up." I said. Jessie needed to know what to get her too.
"Mine!" she squealed.
"What does the birthday girl want?" I asked her.
"I really want a bulldog. But I could have some new phone cases, ITunes gift cards, nail polish, and some Bath and Body Works lotion." she said.
I knew which one I was going to get her.
Chloe's birthday
I got Chloe the cutest little bulldog. I put it in her room to start her birthday off right.

"OMG! I got a puppy!" Chloe yelled from her room.
I smiled and she ran down stairs with her new puppy. She gave me a tight hug and said, "Thank you mom."
I almost cried. She said she wasn't going to call me mom because I'm not her real mom.
"What's her name?" I asked about the puppy.
"Roxy. I think the name is perfect for her." Chloe said.
"Okay go get Lilly up were going to the mall to get new clothes." I said.
Chloe ran upstairs to get Lilly. "A puppy!" I heard Lilly squeal.
At the mall
Jessie is making a cake and getting the house set up for Chloe's surprise party. We invited all of her friends. Jessie has to text me when she's done setting up.
We went in almost every store for both of them, I got some clothes and shoes too. Jessie texted me that she was ready. This is my last full day I get to spend with the girls because I start my job at Rue 21 tomorrow.
After the party
The party was amazing Lilly and Chloe were so tired I didn't even have to tell them to go to bed.
The next day
"Girls time for school!" I yelled hoping they'd get up. Neither one of them did. I already made breakfast so I went upstairs to get them up.
"Chloe you have to get up." I said shaking her.
"I'm up I'm up." she said grabbing her phone and walking downstairs.
"Lilly. It's time for school. You have to get up. Mommy has to go to work." I said shaking her gently.
"Mommy is breakfast made?" she asked rubbing her eyes.
"Yep lets go." I said. She jumped up and ran down stairs.
At work
"Ma'am I'm sorry we don't have pants that small." I said being nice to the lady.
"I know you don't but you should get them. Other people are going to need that size! Just get some or I'm going on strike and my whole family is too!" she yelled and walked out of the door.
In 15 minuets I had my lunch break. I couldn't wait.
"That will be $56.65." I said to the man that was here with his daughter.
My phone started to ring.
"Hello this is Jessica." I said.
"Hello are you Chloe's guardian?" asked some man on the phone.
"Yes it is. Who is this?" I asked the man on the phone.
"I'm her principal. She's suspended. She got in a fight. She can't come back to school for 1 week." said her principal.
"Okay I'll come pick her up." I said and hung up.
"I'll be back. Can you cover for me?" I asked Rose another one of the employees.
"Yeah." she said.
After Jessica picked up Chloe
"What were you thinking?" I yelled at Chloe.
"She wanted to talk bad about you and Aunt Jessie. Then she pushed me when I told her to stop talking about you," Chloe said getting frustrated.
"Okay. But you still shouldn't have hit her back. We'll talk about your punishment later." I said. We didn't talk the whole way back.
