*Dan's POV*
It was a cold December night. Everyone had gone to sleep after another agonising day of Christmas music and presents likely to never be sold again once this season passed. No snow falling, only the brittle breeze clung onto my exposed neck. I was walking back from a work-do. Everyone so drunk out of their minds that it felt like they were lucky to be awake, let alone dancing. I decided to leave the festivities early though, I felt like a burden not drinking.

It was silent walking down these streets at night. Only the mere, dim lights passed by me, but the one lone car that lit up the road blindingly reminded me that I wasn't alone after all. I was nearly home by the time even crept close to midnight. I was glad at the sight of the flat Phil and I shared, it felt comforting, like home. I hadn't seen him all day. He had been feeling a bit down recently and I, in hope of seeing him smile, wanted to surprise him with something... Special.
