Noon
Stiles had been staring at his laptop pretty much seen he greeted Derek and they started the drive down to San Fran, but even though the words were literally on the tip of his tongue, none of them seemed to want to come out.
"Here", Derek handed him something.
Stiles looked up and accepted the packet of Reece's, "Thanks but what are you giving me these for?" he asked confused.
"Chocolate has dopamine in it, and that sometimes help people study better", Derek answered, "Well, I mean I know you're not studying, but it also helps slow the mind down a bit, so all those scattered thoughts fighting to break out, are probably calming down", he smiled an amused smirk of a smile.
Not that Stiles could blame him, he'd practically gobbled the chocolate in three seconds flat.
Chuckling Derek reached out and wiped away a smear of chocolate on the edge of his bottom lip, Stiles instinctively licked his lip, tongue brushing against his thumb, holding his gaze; Stiles licked the smear off of chocolate gathered and smirked sharply.
Derek swallowed and pulled his hand back; he raised the thumb to his lips and bit down on it.
Stiles heart stuttered weakly, "You do not play fair Hale", he hissed.
"I never play fair", he promised.
Stiles grinned, "Thanks for the chocolate", he crackled his knuckles before calmly returning to his laptop.
To be honest Stiles hadn't quite realized he and Derek were headed anywhere in a direction that could be called a hopeful relationship. It was more a dangerous flirtation and a promised strength of friendship. The pushing each other to lose the battle of will and composure had started probably straight after their camping trip. Not that the camping trip had helped, the sexual teasing tension, of their close proximity had been borderline intense.
To start of it was a little indecent to be near Derek, when he refused to keep a shirt on for longer than a few minutes in between their defense training and several times in between with the tackling and straddling and the leaning in too close practically eliminating the personal space bubble they each had.
Speaking of being oddly connected through a dangerous flirtation Stiles had a more pressing thing he need to talk about, inhaling once he exhaled long and hard. Plugging in his headphones, he turned up the volume and started typing.
