LYDIA POV
When we got out of the clinic we took Malia's clothes (that were soaked in blood) and her phone, Kira and I wrote a message telling Malia's dad that she was going to sleep over at Kira's house, we later showed the message to Malia to ask her if that's how she would write a text to her dad, after some tries we got her to finally nod her head in approval.
Later we headed to Kira's house, I was going to stop at my house for some clothes but Kira told me she would borrow me some, I agreed and we continued.
I was in the front seat driving, Kira was in the copilot seat and Malia was sitting quietly in the back, I tried to put the sit belt on her but she wouldn't let me. I had a bad feeling of her sitting just like that, but I couldn't get her to put it on.
-"do you think your parents will mind if we stay?" I asked Kira
-"I don't think so, they both know about the supernatural, so they will understand why Malia needs a place to stay, specially my mom since she is a supernatural creature as well" Kira said with a smile
Malia was quietly listening to the conversation from behind since she couldn't actually talk...
-"well, if we are going to have a sleepover at least we need to have fun, we can't think about what happened all night. So, movie night?" I ask with excitement
-"yes!!" Kira shouts
-"great! I was also thinking that..."
I was about to finish the sentence but then I noticed there was an enormous animal on the road, I stopped the car abruptly, Kira and I had our sit belts on, so nothing happened to us, but Malia didn't have hers on, so she got pushed to the front making her fall from her seat.
I contained myself from saying I told you so...
-"is that..." Kira said
-"a deer?" I continued
We realized at the same time what we had just said. We remembered all the times Malia had told us what her favorite food was. Realizing the mistake we had just made when we said the word "deer" we turned around at the same time but it was to late. Malia was already jumping to the front part of the car trying to reach her precious deer.
She was about to jump outside from the car window but Kira hugged her to stop her from jumping.
-"LYDIA! TAKE OFF NOW!" Kira yelled as the coyote tried to escape from Kira's trap hug.
I accelerated and saw how we left the deer behind. Malia stopped trying to escape as she realized that it was impossible for her to even see the deer now, we were to far away.
-"damn Malia! I know you adore deer but you know you can't just jump from the car and devour Bambi infront of us" I said taking my hair off my face.
Malia rolled her eyes and went back to her sit. There was a few seconds of silence and then Kira and I bursted in laughter. Malia didn't find it amusing, she was to sad thinking of the deer she could've tasted.
When we arrived to Kira's house we went to look for her parents, they were having dinner. When I saw the sushi they were eating I realized it had been a long time since I had last eaten. My stomach literally growled.
-"hi!" Kira greeted her parents
-"hello sweetie, why are you so late? I thought we agreed we were going to have dinner together tonight" Mr. Yukimura said
-"um, actually I brought Lydia and Malia. I was wondering if they could spend the night here" Kira said
-"well, you could've said it earlier" Mrs. Yukimura said
-"hello Lydia" Mr. Yukimura saluted
-"hi! Mr. Yukimura" i replied
-"I thought you said Malia was coming too" Her mom wondered
-"um, sure, why not... Um, before that, please don't freak out, she has been through a lot today and I don't think she will be able to handle more people interrogating her" Kira said
-"why would we freak out?" Mr. Yukimura asked, both of her parents looked confused.
Kira looked at me and I just nodded.
-"ok... Malia you can come out!" Kira said
Malia appeared from her hiding spot. The coyote walked slowly towards us probably expecting Kira's parents to yell or cut her in half with their swords.
Both of Kira's parents looked amazed and surprised at the same time.
-"wait is that... Malia?" Mrs. Yukimura asked impressed of the girl in coyote form standing in front of him.
-"mom! I said you couldn't freak out!" Kira said
-"we are not freaking out! Is just... Wow!" Mr. Yukimura said
-"dad!" Kira said
"I guess you didn't do the homework I assigned for Monday..." Mr. Yukimura guessed referring to Malia
If she could've apologized... Actually she wouldn't have apologized, she would've just given him a smile saying "sorry but I don't have the intentions of boring my self with Abraham Lincoln's life"
Mrs. Yukimura laughed gently and stood up.
-"so, apparently you all had a tough day, I also imagine you are hungry, so, why don't I give you some sushi for dinner and you girls go to Kira's room and maybe you can tell us what happened tomorrow" Mrs. Yukimura suggested
-"thanks Mrs. Yukimura, that sounds just perfect" I said
-"no problem sweetie" she replied then she directed to the kitchen for the food.
-"what about Malia? What will she eat?" Kira asked
-"Malia do you eat meat?" Mr. Yukimura asked her
She nodded
-"I have a big steak in the fridge, would you want it?" He asked her
When Malia heard that she would have a steak for dinner, she stood up moving her tail.
-"I'll take that as a yes. You girls wait in Kira's room, im pretty sure you are all tired, so let us prepare you dinner" Mr. Yukimura suggested
Kira gave her dad a hug and I thanked him in behalf of me and Malia. He smiled when I talked for her and headed to the kitchen with her wife. All three of us rushed upstairs too Kira's room.
Kira and I changed to pijamas and Malia stayed the same. We all got on Kira's bed and turned on the TV. Kira's parents walked into the room with dinner (that looked delicious btw), we ate while watching the romantic movie A Walk to Remember. After Malia finished her dinner she instantly fell asleep with her head laying on Kira's leg using her as a pillow.
-"she looks so cute" I said
-"I know! Can we keep her?" Kira asked
We both laughed.
-"Malia would be so mad at us right now" Kira said
We both imagined tough Malia getting mad because she was being called cute.
We both laughed and continued watching the movie.
At some points of the movie I would get distracted observing Malia sleep, watching her chest go up and down with each breath.
When the movie finished both Kira and I had tears in our eyes. Some minutes later we were deeply asleep.
