Great, Beautiful Sea

The waves they cooly lap the shore
I observe, sweetly, my speech no more

For only my breaths, long and blissful
Reflect the oceans grace; abysmal

Transport me, oh beautiful sea
To the place I always want to be

And judge me not, for sometimes I grieve
And in those times I'll take no leave

From this place my burdens fade away
As the setting sun fades from a sun lit day

And the salty air, that I so graciously breath
Makes for me a seashell wreath

That, as I place upon my head
Reflects off of me my hidden dread

The beautiful women, they crowd around me
And whisper to me oh so sweetly

"Sweet child, fear not." They speak
Comfort for me they seem to seek

I loosen my grip on reality
And they smile, for my pain is ceasing to be

"Sweet release!" They sing in a voice oh so soft
"Release...." I murmur, my spirit aloft

The oceans pull me down, I sink
More calming, I feel, than you may think

And as the waves wash o'er me
I know now all that I have seen

Oh great sea, I beg and plea
Please don't release your grip on me
