Chapter 5

"Breakfast is ready! ", Lisa announces as she carries the food together with Sandra.

"Hey, Scarlet! Aren't you excited to see what they're bringing? ", asks Ember with eyes sparkling in excitement.

But Scarlet faces away from him. Seemingly still affected by what he did lately.

"Psh. What's with her? ", Ember mutters.

"Make way for the food. ", cheerfully says Lisa as they place the food on the tables.

"Wow, hotdog and eggs! "

"H-Hotdog!? ", mentally says Scarlet as she looks at the table.

"Hotdog!", cheerfully says Scarlet as she sees hotdog on the table.

"Hey, Scarlet do you like hotdogs too?", asks Ember.

Scarlet, still affected by what Ember did, faces and looks away from him.

"Yup. ", replies Scarlet as she nods.

From Scarlet's positive reply, Ember wears a big grin.

Sandra notices Scarlet's weird behavior.

"What's wrong sweetie? Are you still mad that you lost to him? "

"N-Not really... ", Scarlet replies while still facing away.

"Then what is it? ", asks intrigued Sandra.

Remembering what actually happened, Scarlet blushes a bit.

"It's nothing, mom. Don't mind it.", replies Scarlet while facing away even further.

"Hmmm. This is hard... ", Sandra scratches her head.

After wondering for a few seconds Sandra suddenly smiles a bit and faces toward Ember.

"Hey Emberrrrr. ", Sandra calls out to Ember with a sweet voice.

Hearing Sandra call out Ember's name, Scarlet starts feeling tension.

"What is it? ", Ember asks.

Hearing Ember's quick reply, Scarlet starts sweating.

"Did you do something to Scarlet? ", loudly asks Sandra with the intent to make Scarlet overhear.

Scarlet's time slows down.

She looks down under her table while rubbing her fingers against each other, nervous of what Ember might say.

FINALLY, Ember replies.

"Nothing! ", says Ember.

Hearing the glorious reply, Scarlet gets freed from all the tension,  relieved that Ember didn't say what she didn't wanna hear.

"Whew! ", Scarlet mutters to herself.

"Really? What a bummer. I wonder what happened to her? ", says dissapointed Sandra as she slowly walks towards the kitchen.

Then the unexpected follow-up arrives.

"She started acting weird when I kissed her hand! ", casually announces Ember.

"Eh!?", Scarlet reacts,  jumping a little bit from her seat.

"Whaaaaat!? So that's what happened! ", Lisa comments.

Sandra comes closer to Scarlet,
"Did you like it that much? ", Sandra makes fun of Scarlet as she laughs.

Scarlet's face reddens fast from embarassment.

Sandra tries apologize to Scarlet, but before she even finishes speaking, she laughs even louder than before.

Unable to resist the heat, red-faced Scarlet glares at Ember, then yells at him:

"STUPID!"

Scarlet then gets out of her seat and then started running outside.

"Oh my, what have I done? ", Sandra chases after her, still laughing.

Yuki, who was listening the whole time, runs fast downstairs toward the window, then points at the running Scarlet outside.

"KARMA B*TCH! Run! Run away! ", says Yuki who seem to be celebrating too much.

Yuki then comes towards Ember.

"Good job, Ember! I'm really proud to have you as my son! ", Yuki laughs hard.

Ember, not knowing what's going on, awkwardly laughs along his father.

Later that morning, Sandra ended up coming back alone asking some of the hotdogs they prepared, for Scarlet seems too embarrassed to show her face to anybody else.
