He pointed out a paper on the wall, "You see, the men that attacked your house, and, uh, almost killed Dan, your father, they rule this place, and I am under house arrest. They don't like us very much, Um, Germany, I mean, that's who the men were, Germans. So they took over and since I wouldn't listen to them, instead of killing me, which would cause a revolt, they put me here and beat me.
So, I call people after I get beaten, and they try to help, the first person I called was you, Dan, but they traced the call and found you, I don't know what happened after that though... " His voice trailed off.
"Yeah, we were friends in high school, he always got me into trouble but made up a good excuse so I stayed with him, even though we lived away from each other, we still kept in touch. So when he called me, it was expected, but he said that I should help him, blah, blah, blah. But he got me captured. Then I was beaten, had to answer the questions, without giving out any crucial info, what else do you want them to know? Huh?" Dan yelled at his friend.
"Oh, uh, sorry, Dan, I didn't, I didn't, mean it , like this. I got to go..." He ran out into another room. "Wait, come back here, And, I didn't mean, I really didn't..."His voice trailed off, "I'll go after him." He started to take off, but Zalia, stopped him. "Dad, I'll get him, he would probably like it better from me."
Then she took off before anyone could stop her. After she rounded the third corner and went through a door, she slowed to a slow pace and slowly stepped. One, two, three, four She counted in her head. Then she suddenly stopped and opened her mouth to scream but no sound came out. It was the symbol!
The same symbol she had seen before, but where did it come from? Why did it appear only to her? These questions were still running through her head when she heard the door behind her slam and lock.
