Let Chapter 6 begin!

Ash’s POV

I walked through the halls of the Pokémon Center feeling horrible and confused. Why did I care if Misty cried? She had ran me over with my bike when we first met! Why did I feel so horrible when she was sad or mad or not smiling?

I already knew the answer to that.

I liked Misty. I liked one of the four gym leaders of Cerulean City. And I liked her a lot.

But why? It’s not like I’d known her that long, only a few short days traveling in the forest and I already was crushing on someone way out of my league. BUT.. I had a lot of things going for me too, like the fact that this wasn’t the first region I’d been in, and I had a lot of strong Pokémon. But it’s not like I was cute or anything so why would she like me back?

She probably didn’t feel the same.. So why was I stressing over a relationship that didn’t and would probably never exist?

I shook my head as if to clear my thoughts and walked back down the way I’d just come to get ready to leave, I wanted to cover some ground today and get at least half way through the forest and on our way to the next town.

What’s in store for us today? Any more people going to join us on our journey?

I thought as I mindlessly packed my bag. I avoided Misty’s gaze and she just ignored me like I wasn’t there.

She definitely didn’t like me.

That’s disappointing.

I took in her appearance. She had changed into her regular outfit. A blue half top with purple suspenders and white shorts, blue was defiantly her color. It complimented her jade green eyes perfectly. I shook my head, I needed to get her out of my head or I was just going to torture myself more than I already was.

May walked out of the bathroom and yawned. Wait how did she end up traveling with us again? Oh she was determined to beat me in a battle, that’s right.

I sighed, it was a lost cause, her Pokemon were obviously made for contest, not Pokemon battles. It was silly of her to try and beat me in a battle, my Pokemon were too tough for her soft ones.

“Hey May!” I waved her over and she packed her bag next to me and yawned again. “Yea?”

“Well don’t take this the wrong way but I could help you train your pokemon to be stronger and maybe help you with some contest stuff?” I laughed nervously.

“You want to help me with techniques for my porformances?” She asked me with a laugh while she slung her back pack over her shoulder.

“Yea. I know attacks pretty well so pairing two pokemon up to make things look cool should look easy!” She scowled at me and I knew that if looks could kill I’d already be six feet under and she’d happily dance on my grave.

“Well it isn’t easy.” She folded her arms and looked away before Misty came up to us with a nervous face, “Time to go.” She didn’t look twice at me and started walking to the exit of the Pokemon Center, getting her Pokemon from Nurse Joy first.

I ran after her and May followed behind me with a giggle. “Hey Misty! Wait up!” I caught up to her and out a hand on her shoulder only for her to shrug it off. “What?” She looked at me with an annoyed expression.

Was she mad at me? I looked at her in shock at her tone of voice and then my eyes softened. “What’s wrong?” I didn’t like to see her this way, upset.

“Nothing is wrong. I’m just tired, let’s go I’m ready to get out of this forest already.” I nodded and she started walking again and May and I followed her, dragging our feet.

Misty’s POV

I continued to walk ahead of them as I heard Ash and May chatter about new ways May could improve her performance. My nails dug into my palms and I kept walking as I strained to hear what they were saying.

Ash liked May. I just knew it. But why May? She was rude and arrogant I didn’t even know her gym leaders, how stupid.

I shook my head, just because Ash liked her didn’t mean that I had to be rude or think so bitterly of her, I wasn’t like that, I wasn’t snobby or jealous or…ok maybe I was a little jealous but that didn’t matter.

Ash ran up to me from behind and I stiffened as his arm brushed mine.

“Hey.” He said casually and May walked by him on his other side, she acted like a lost patrat, always following Ash around like he was her trainer.

“Hi.” I said back and he smiled, dimples forming on both sides of his face. God he was SO cute when he smiled, and to think the reason he just did was me, made my heart melt into mush.

“We should battle sometime.” His jet black hair got in his chocolate brown eyes and I swallowed hard, nodding and trying to keep cool, “Yea, maybe sometime.”

May pulled Ash by the hand and dragged him ahead, “Hey look at that!” She pointed up to some flying pokemon soaring above us and I knew she just did that to get Ash away from me, we’d seen tons of pokemon today already. Why was she acting this way? Ash liked her anyways, I was no competition for her!

By dusk it had started to rain, and we all made a run for what seemed to be an abandoned log cabin. We ran inside to find that it was all one room, with a small kitchen and living room, and a door in the back corner. We looked around and the door led into a bathroom with one toilet and a bath/ shower and one small sink.

The heat worked, as did the hot water, so we were very happy tht we were so fortunate to come upon this place while we were traveling around the forest.

The kichen was stocked with ramen and water so we helped ourselves and after we were dry, full, and comfortable we went to bed.

Sorry the chapter is so short DX and sorry if there are any errors I was rushed to update and I went to the stock yards today so I was busy.
