JANAE
I woke up with a smile today. Hearing the small raindrops fall against my window and watching the sun creep out through the clouds, illuminating the the tips of them with a champagne gold just makes me happy. Happy to be a part of this beautifully disastrous world. I hop out of bed and open my window welcoming in the crisp November morning air in, and I smile to myself once again.
Today is one of those days where I'm fully at peace and happy to be alive, happy for all that I have, and ready to cherish whatever comes my way. I make my way through my room picking out an outfit and accessories. I always feel more put together when I actually spend time getting ready in the morning. After I wash my face I float downstairs to only to be attacked by my beautiful little sister, Namiko. "Hii Janae!" She nearly yells with her signature heart warming smile. "Hi baby." I greeted as I picked her up and carried her small body down the stairs. Nami is by far the brightest light in my life right now. Her innocence and beauty never fails at making me smile.
"Good morning Janae." My stepfather Macklon said.
"That it is." I replied chirpily. My mother and him aren't married but they've been together long enough for me to think of him as my father and I'm always going to be grateful to him for giving my mother everything she's ever dreamed of. She deserves it.
"Where's Mom?" I ask. My mother is a freelance beautician, doing make-up and hair for clients. It rarely requires her to be out of the house this early in the morning.
"Your Aunt Nikki needed help with Jayden and Sophia so she went over to help them last night." He answered.
"Oh," I said with concern. Aunt Nikki has two children, Jayden who is 12 and Sophia who is 5. Their father was arrested a few months ago so my mother has been helping Nicki manage. "Do you know when she'll be back?"
"I'm not sure but she won't be gone for long, do you need a ride to school?"
Hmm I pondered. My school is within walking distance so I decided to walk despite the rain, not that I mind. Rain is one of my favorite things.
After having some waffles Macklon made I said goodbye to him and Nami and started my descent to school. Today we have an assembly that will probably be important so I don't want to be late walking.
My short boots splashed on the puddle covered sidewalk and the breeze on my damp cheeks felt so right as I neared the school. God I love the rain. I thought, it's washed away my pain and troubles for as long as I could remember. The weather is perfectly contradictory today, the humid air leaving a radiant warm on your skin before being rinsed with cool raindrops leaving you in a state of bliss not felt anywhere else.
As I neared the unusually empty school entrance, I checked my phone only to see that I was twenty minutes late. Shoot. I thought, I must of slowed down without realizing being mesmerized by the rain. I ran into the school to my first period class but there wasn't anyone there. Huh? Then it dawned on me, the Junior's assembly started five minutes into first class. I ran once again but this time to our school's massive auditorium and only stopped right before the door to catch my breath.
Whoo. I breathed out a final time before opening the doors which made a loud creaking noise causing all eyes to be on me when I entered the room. I smiled meekly and scanned the huge room for Simone, my best friend. Suddenly my eyes stopped frozen on a face I'd never seen before. Our eyes met for a few seconds before I looked away and hurried to where Simone was waving me over. Who was that? The thought stayed on my mind as the stares slowly directed back to the stage until my attention was snapped back to Simone.
"Hey girl." She half-whispered.
"Heyyy, do you know who that guy is? The one next to- wait what?" I said pointing discreetly at the mystery guy who I realized was sitting next to two more new guys. One of them, with fair skin and brown hair whispered something in mystery guy's ear earning a laugh from the other who had tightly curled, short black hair and coffee colored skin. They seemed to be oblivious to the stares they were getting from various faces in the crowd, mostly girls but there were a few jock type of guys occasionally stealing scowl-tinged glances their way. Or maybe they just didn't care.
"Who? Oh shi-," She said, eyes widening as her eyes stopped on the three boys, "No I don't. But I sure plan on it." She finished with a mischievous smile
I laughed, well I tried to without having everyone stare at me for the second time today. I was interrupted though, by Ms. Blake our creative writing teacher.
"Settle down please, now next up we are welcoming three new students to our learning community, Victor Ballinger, Rickey Tiller, and August Ramirez." Following her statement, the three boys stood up and walked a little sheepishly up to the stage and next to Ms. Blake. As the mystery guy walked closer to the stage I got a closer look him. He seemed to have this mysterious way about him, like he wanted to remain unknown. But the real mystery is his eyes, tinged with sadness. Something about them made me want to solve that mystery. She then handed one of the boys the microphone and gestured for him to say his name.
"Uh hi, I'm Victor." The brown haired boy said shyly.
"Hey it's Rickey." The coffee colored boy said with a smirk that was sure to have many girls falling for him.
Lastly, the mystery guy spoke, but the sadness in his voice and in his eyes somehow made the crowd go silent besides a few snickering guys.
"August."
OHH MYY GOSHH
1. Could this update have taken any longer? I'm sorryy guys I had so much trouble with this chapter and I just didn't want to upload complete trash, even though I'm still kinda iffy with this chapter.
2. Expect a much longer update in August's perspective sometime next week. (Hopefully). The end of the school year has me soo busy trying to finish everything up but once summer starts expect more frequent updates. Also, I know that the current chapters are pretty short compared to most other Wattpad stories so I'm trying to lengthen them. :)
3. VOTE-COMMENT-SHARE (Only if you want to) :) Thanks for the support guys it's amzing.
Smile,
Tabitha
