"Get out" His voice was calm and that was the most disturbing part.
"Daddy... I'm sorry" I whispered. He shook his head, his eyes wide with anger and fury. His fists were clenched as if he were restraining from striking me. "Go. Now." he uttured, his face red. I scraped back the chair and ran from the kitchen, still clutching that godforsaken piece of paper. Mother was walking down the stairs. "What have you done now?!" She snatched the paper from my trembling hands. The look of horror on her face was less anger than father had but more... disappointment. A tear crept from my eye. "I am so sorry." She ignored me. Spinning on her heels, she ran up the stairs. I stood silently in the hall. A couple of minutes passed and she came back down. Without saying a word, she pressed the handle of my velvet suitcase into my hand. She then opened the door and looked outside blanchly. I whispered I was sorry again and ran out.
