The Other Half

|| chapter 2 ||

'A very big congratulations to Ms. Tori Marshals for winning the Lachowski funded competition where she will be enjoying a full day with a dazzling Fransisco. It doesn't matter at all that he's engaged or the fact that he has a son. We'll ship them off to private resort....somewhere. Starting the day with a tour by the one and only, Mr. Lachowski, followed by dinner with the one and only, Mr. Lachowski and ending the day with a luxurious massage by the one an-'

The booming voice of the TV presenter was interrupted by a familiar annoying voice.

"Tori! Wake up its late!"

-d only Mr. Lachowski!

"Get lost Lin! I wanna win my prize!" I mumbled sleepily

"Tori! Get up!"

"Tori I swear if you don't get up right now I'm going to show Helvetica your precious little diary!"

Snapping my eyes open at the pompous name, I glare at Meilin.

"You don't wake someone up by mentioning some egotistic, rich brat! Seriously! Especially when I'm dreaming about Lachowski!" I stare at her incredulously.

She taps her watch.

"Well you've got about 10 minutes to get ready," she says as normally as one would comment on the weather.

"What?!"

I jump out of bed and hastily grab the essentials to have a quick shower, leaving a startled Meilin.

Stubbing my toe on the legs of the table, I curse loudly. This was not my day today. The last thing I needed was to be given another detention by vice-principle Lorraine.

VP Lorraine.

Ugh. I shudder just thinking about her. That woman is so evil, it's not even funny.

Patrolling around the corridors just waiting for her prey.

Turning on the shower handles, I step in. Lathering myself with the strawberry scented soap and putting the shampoo (also strawberry) on my blond-brown hair for a few minutes, I just stand there. Waiting for a few minutes before washing everything off.

I finish my shower and step out, shivering as I wrap my towel tighter around my body.

I fish out a bra and my boy shorts and put them on, hopping like a madwoman in the process.

Without bothering to put on my clothes, I decide to attack the thing on my head that is hair. Pulling the brush through my untamed hair for a few times, I just put it in a messy bun.

Forget about it.

Bending down I pick up the clothes that fell whilst I was in a rush.

"Looking fi-i-i-ne, Tori." Someone whispers in my ear.

"Arghhhhhhh!" I turn around slowly and surprisingly am not shocked to find a smirking Sebastian in front of me.

Now this is where one would usually hear a harmonious choir of voices synchronising form somewhere above at such a gorgeous guy. One that has been trying to get with me since I first arrived and has been paying me daily visits to emphasise.

I on the other hand, am fed up by the shittines of my morning as far.

I slap his face with my wet towel, causing a loud thwack! to be heard from the empty room.

"How many times have I told you not. To. Go. In. My. Room." I state each word loud and clear so he knows I'm pissed off.

Sebastian's face is one of shock and had this been any other moment I would laugh at such a comical expression.

"Is it that time of the month Tor? I've some paracetamols in my bag," he says, concern lacing his voice as he reaches for his side bag.

"Wha-?"

I put my hands up towards the ceiling for a silent plea of help and picking up my clothes to go in the bathroom to change

"Tori? Are you alright?" he asks.

"Of course I'm alright!" I say grunting while trying to put on dry clothes on my wet and slippery body.

"I just,"

grunt

"got scared,"

grunt

"because"

grunt

"you,"

grunt

"popped the hell out of nowhere!"

Opening the door of the bathroom I walk out packing my bag.

"And now I'm gonna have to deal with VP Lorraine! Could this day get any worse?"

As though on cue, the sound of clacking heels against the wooden floorboards in the corridor can be heard, belonging to none other than the VP.

Sebastian's eyes widen at the exact same moment my brain registers what the hell is happening.

Clack.

Clack.

Clack.

Clack.

The footsteps stop right outside the door to my room. I close my eyes sending a silent prayer.

Please don't come in. Please don't come in.

Just as the doorknob turns, Sebastian's walks with such stealth that I thought was not possible with his built frame and silently pushes the lock.

I hear the satisfying click and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Hello? Is anybody in here?"

We wait for a few minutes just to make sure she's gone before I slowly turn the handle and take a quick peek outside. When I see nobody, I turn around, facing a smug Sebastian.

"You so owe me for that one," he says wiggling his eyebrows.

I just stand there, staring at him. We nearly got fried by the VP and all he could care about was how his brilliance saved the day.

Asshole.

"How about that date next Friday?"

Kill.

Me.

Now.
