15 days earlier....(that night)

As I laid in bed all I could think about was the eclipse. The perfection of nature in those few monents fascinated me. For one, the moon, being millionths plus times smaller than the sun, fit perfectly into the faint outline of that gargantuan, life-keeping star. As well as the representation of day and night being the same for once. I had always thought about how useful that could be. Showing that even opposites have things in common every once in a blue moon. Or a red for that matter.

As I thought more and more about The night, I could almost feel my brain against my skull as if it had to expand to work. Then I realized the air. In my room was a cieling fan, which I ran almost constantly because being hot was annoying to me. But, as I paid attention to the air flowing over me I realized it was different. It wasn't just one direction of air pushing down on me from the ceiling. It was the air from the ceiling I judged but the pattern of movement kept changing, almost as soon as I thought that of how It could. Then I realized it...it WAS right after I could think of how it could, I was changing it. I tried to will it now to do what I wanted but I seemed to have no control now. It was back to the normal downward, slightly curved direction coming from the fan.

I began to think, "Am I going mad, its not scientifically possible to control wind!" As many times as I said that, I couldn't dismiss the memory of what I had just done. And as I thought back I was astonished to realize I did it while watching the eclipse too. That moment when I thought the amazement was messing with my head, of course I was wrong. Nothing really messed with my mind. And now I knew for a fact that I had done it. I had controlled the wind, and although everything I knew about science screamed impossible, it was an undeniable fact. Facts are the only thing I ever feel confident about. I couldn't simply turn this one over without testing.

As I took grasp of this concept so many things, questions, crossed my mind.

"What triggered this? Was it the eclipse?" the answer came quickly. It had to have been.

"How could it?"

"How long could it last?"

"Could I gain better control?"

With these questions racing and bouncing through my head, I began to try again. I tried and tried, only getting less determined as I became more tired. As I drifted into a dream I felt a cool breeze. A rush of of ice pass over and through me. The coldest, most freezing breeze I had ever felt before. The breeze...of failure.

As I rolled out of bed I felt odd. Not like I had a full nights rest. But when I peered out my bedroom window I saw light so bright it had to be of the sun. So I rubbed the lingering tiredness from my eyes and slowly made my way down the steps and into the kitchen. I went directly to the cabinet in which we kept the oatmeal. I reached for it out of memory, without really looking, for my eyes hadn't forced themselves open to anything but mere tired slits just yet. I was surprised when my hand found nothing. Not a single box in the cabinet where we kept oatmeal, cereal, pasta, etc.

At this I forced my eyes to open entirely. As I looked around my house I recognized nothing other than shapes. Everything inside was a dull gray. Then the window at the far end of the living room caught my eye. Through it shone the light that I took as coming from the sun. Though now, examining more closely, I saw bright blue. Obviously this was not sunlight as it shown yellowish on any day I could remember.

On that note I had to go outside and find the source of this eery cerulean light. I opened the door and quickly ran through it to the backyard. When I walked out the source was very apparent. A large circle, perfectly round if that was actually possible, seemed to be painted into the sky. When I say sky, I mean never ending void of blackness.

But I hardly noticed the darkness of the sky from staring at the strange symbols inside the larger circle of light. One shone red and appeared to be a ball of fire. The opposite was darker blue than the circle; this sigil was made of simply drawn waves. Then there were the other two symbols. On top shone a bright yellow lightning bolt, and on bottom a dark gray mountain. I stood there for a moment completely dumbfounded as to what this was.
As I stood there, practically empty minded for the first time in my life, another symbol began to appear in the center of the Circle. It glowed much brighter than any other. A tornado of bright white. I stared in astonishment as the circle lowered around me. I tried to urge my body to move but it went no where. It seemed as if some unknown force now had control over my mind. The circle slowly moved toward me and then around me, until it was on the ground, me as the center point. Then the wind started.

Wind came from beneath my feet, picking me up into he air. It was the tornado sigil from the circle, it had now become a real whirlwind. It surrounded me with a visible type of white wind and carried me high into the air. I began to scream and.... I sat bolt upright in my bed, yelling at the top of my lungs. A dream... Just a dream...
