As I walked, more like stubbled stupid high heels, into the mayor's office he sat there very evilly grinning.  I took a seat across from he he began to speak in a voice similar to crunching gravel.  "So Ms. Armani finally 16 eh," he said," hope your excited to begin this exciting chapter in your life." "The only thing I'm excited about is the fact I'm missing school today," I replied being my sweet, honest self," I doubt anyone will even have the other half cause I don't ever plan on falling in love."  "Oh your just scared let me explain how this works, course I figure you already know since your great grandparents invented the thing." Yeah I started thinking and I hate them every moment for it let's make something taking all the choice of a child's future away sounds like a great idea.  "But either way it's regulation," Mayor Annoying continued to explain," the (invention) was a discover made by the Armani's to take the pain out of finding true love.  It is a necklace which after the age of 16 every child is required to wear one.  When you have this necklace you will notice it has a specific shape to it, and only you true loves necklace will fit into it.  These necklaces also act as a homing device it will grow warmer and colder while it is looking for its match.  Sometimes your necklace, when you receive it, is in a deactivated state which is because your partner doesn't have one yet.  But it will activate, as soon as your partner has received their necklace.  Am I moving to fast or do you understand,"  he asked and I just nodded as if I was really listening.  We've been learning about these thing forever of course I know how the stupid thing works.  He then started to ask me questions about my love life and finally after an eternity he said," OK your ceremony is starting now good luck.". I then get a piece of paper saying I'm good to go and walked out to the limo to take me to my ceremony.

The hall was decorated very grandly for the ceremony since it wasn't only me getting my necklace today the hall was full of strangers and family alike.  A couple of my best friends came today too so there was one good thing.  I took a seat between my best friend, Carlota, and my mom.  Listening to the longest speech in history about love, how this necklace is wonderful at guiding you, and how is hasn't failed yet.  Then after it was over all the people started getting called up to receive their necklaces it was slow and boring. Then the monotone voice finally said, "Armani, Zoe."  I got up and started to walk up to the front of the hall all eyes fixed on me.  I climbed up the steps to the stage and then I saw it; it was jade in color same as my eyes and was fixed on a simple black leather string the shape was hard to describe it's supposed to be something my partner and I have in common.  It was beautiful.  The ceremony holder slipped it over my head and when it hit the bare skin on my neck it felt like it belonged there.  Then I noticed it starting to heat up not much just barely noticeable, but it meant something my partner where ever he was felt it too and he knows we can find each other.
