We went on a trip
A trip long overdue
You studied the artifacts
I studied you
You couldn't be more nonchalant
Yet you moved your seat
From the back of your mind
To somewhere within reach
And when the sun hid
Behind layer and layer of smog
We walked side by side
Silenced by a spell
Cast by a subdued sunset
You stepped away distracted
I thought you'd leave for good
But you walked back
Right back to the start
It was almost like we were good again
Not strangers hiding behind texts
Do you miss
The mutual instinct to walk side by side
The comfort of someone's heat warming up the air
The way our hands were so close
They could almost touch?
