Beware the Fish
(November 8, 2015)
There are shadows on eternity,
Like ripples through space;
Beware the Fish.
An echo of identity
Disturbs the murky reality
As hidden, secret somethings
Slip silently by to the sound of sudden slithering.
Hush.
Listen as the silence roars against the mountain,
Mining for meaning in this last cave,
A solitary trickle of dust
Disturbing once-still waters;
Beware the Fish.
Dawn comes over the night,
Dispersing and destroying reality
With blinding, burning sunbeams
And the raging inferno's fury,
Put off for years too long.
The wisdom lies cradled in the seagull 's call,
While green water below
Hides labyrinths of coral caves.
Something ageless lurks beneath
The sand and subtle meaning,
Enshrined in lost memory and forgotten dreams.
Beware the Fish.
