"ugh, you two are so gross," jimin made a face at the couple giggling in front of him. "get a room."

taehyung made a gagging noise beside jimin, and hoseok rolled his eyes and playfully kicked him under the table, receiving a loud yelp in response. they were all seated around in a table in the cafeteria with their lunches opened right before them and the area was filled with buzzing noises as students came in and out.

with an arm draped behind on jungkook's chair, hoseok popped a grape on his mouth and at the same time, stole glances from the boy beside him.

there was a gush of warmth spreading on hoseok's chest and he couldn't wipe off the sickly-in-love smile on his face no matter how much he cleared his throat or tried to maintain a neutral expression (jimin was giving him a weird look the whole time). it's just that jungkook was giving him these small, shy smiles whenever he glanced back at him, and it only made hoseok's head feel light and heart rate increasing.

thus, the smile on his face never went away until he found himself walking home with jungkook on his side. they were both quiet, hands brushing against each other, and for a moment, hoseok considered intertwined their fingers together. he did.

"you okay?" hoseok finally asked, nudging jungkook with his shoulder, a soft smile on his face. "you've been quiet all day long. what's up?"

jungkook shook his head, ducking away to hide the smile forming on his lips and the redness of his ears, but hoseok saw, and it made him smile brighter. "no, it's just..." he let out a breath, looking down on their now joined hands rocking back and forth between them. "... everything's too unreal."

hoseok raised an eyebrow. "oh?"

"yeah," jungkook nodded, grinning up at him. "i'll never get used to this. i think."

hoseok hummed, still smiling at jungkook and drawing him closer. "we're on the same boat then."

the two of them stopped in their tracks when hoseok slowly leaned in, watching as jungkook's eyes slowly fluttered shut and eyes flickering down to the latter's lips. then with tenderness, hoseok softly pressed his lips against jungkook's, pulling away after a beat to smile brightly again.

jungkook opened his eyes, cheeks dusted with pink, and hoseok quickly leaned in again to place kisses on each side of jungkook's cheeks, making the latter squirm and laugh in response.

"i like blushing jungkook very much," hoseok admitted with a breathless laugh as their foreheads met, staring into jungkook's eyes.

jungkook smiled, and it made hoseok's heart flutter at how sweet the boy's smile was. "yeah? you're lucky since you're going to see it more often."

hoseok breathed out, nodding and laughing. "damn right, i am lucky."
