Dexters POV
"Put all of your bags in the tray and push it along!" the repetitive tone of their voices irritated me. i placed my phone and earphones into the tray along with my jacket and pushed it through the scanner. My phone and earphones where the only things i had on me, it was only a 2 hour flight, i didn't need anything else. I stepped through the scan without a beep, my items came out the other end as i snatched them from the tray. I have 10 minuets to board the plane! I scurried past everyone, nudging some people on the way there.
"Oh.. sorry... excuse me.. thanks... just-" i carried on talking to myself like an idiot before bumping into someone, both of us hitting each other with quite amount of force. "S-sorry i just.. yeah," i embarrassingly stuttered before walking past them, not even making eye contact, jeez i didn't even know if it was a male or female. Wait now that i think about it... i don't think i felt any- urm... Shit i'm not gonna make it in time!I arrived at the tunnel leading to the plane, now running and flailing like an idiot for them to not close the doors. I surprisingly made it in time as the flight attendant guided me to my seat. I was sat next to the window which was a bonus i guess, plus i was alone which is always a plus. I put my earphones in and plugged it into my phone, switching it on.
"Excuse me, my seat is already taken by someone else is there any spare seats?" i heard a voice from behind me say. I was gonna turn around and answer them until i heard another voice, realizing they weren't speaking to me.
"Oh i'm so sorry sir, there's a spare seat over there if you don't mind sitting there?" one of the flight attendants answered.
"That's fine," i heard the voice reply. Please don't sit next to me, please don't sit next to me, please don- Shit."Mind if i sit here?" i heard them say, i had no choice but to look at them.
"Not at all," i smiled, hiding my annoyance inside. It was male who looked about the same age as me with black hair and blue eyes, he had a 'Tokyo Ghoul' hoodie on which i wanted desperately. He put on his seat-belt and sat back, slipping on his headphones over the hood.I realized i was was watching his every move before i snapped out of it, i put on my seat-belt and gripped the arm of the seat. I shut my eyes and waited for take off.
What felt like sitting there forever i felt someone touch my hand, surprised, i flinched and jerked my hand back, looking to my right.
"Sorry i didn't know your hand was there," he laughed. He must've tried to put his hand on the arm rest as well. "Urm... its fine you can- yeah," i awkwardly reacted.
"Nah, its fine, you look like you need it more than i do," he joked. I nervously laughed, gripping the handle tightly. "Scared of planes?" he asked.
"Me? Pfffttt no, just, a little... yeah," i soon gave in, i'm not good at hiding my fear.
"Yeah well, your not the only one," he admitted.
"You hate planes too?" i asked.
"I don't mind the take off or the landing, in fact i don't mind the flight at all, its the people, i hate socializing or sitting next to strangers."
"Same... wait hey! Thanks!" i sarcastically thanked. He laughed at my response before putting his headphones on.
"You still have a chance at getting on my good side, it just might take a while," he smirked.
"Yeah its a 2 hour flight i doubt i will crack your friendship code by then," i murmured. It was about an hour into the flight and i was drifting off to sleep, no wonder, i haven't had sleep at all and there's a depressing song playing. I felt my eyes getting heavier as i slowly started to tilt to the right. Everything was peaceful and silent before i felt my head hit his shoulder causing me to wake up fully. "Jeez sorry i just-"
"ya know, falling asleep on someones shoulder isn't a very comfortable position, but if its comfy for you go ahead," he sniggered. He looked back down at his book as i gave him a sarcastic look.
I put my knees up and rested my back against the window. "So go on then," he started. "where you from?" he asked.
"Excuse me? Am i in your 'friend zone?"
"You're getting there i suppose, even though all you've done is admit to being terrified of planes and falling asleep on my shoulder but its a start i guess," I coughed under my breathe before answering his question.
"I'm from the UK,"
"Yeah no shit, where abouts?" he asked.
I sighed. "Manchester why?" i put on an accent for humor.
"Well that's something we have in common," he laughed.
"Where are your parents? Or... carer?" i asked him back.
"I could say the same thing to you," he avoided the question.
"I traveled alone to go visit my uncle in Spain and my parents are meeting me back at Manchester when we land smartass."
He gave me a look before looking back at his book. I couldn't tell if that was a positive or negative look, either way it was obvious he wanted to change the subject. I put my knees down and leaned forward. "Sooooo what you readin'?" i tried to act interested, which i was.
He didn't answer, he just put up the book so i could see the cover which read, 'The Woman In Black'.
"Oh so you like horror?!" i shot up.
"yeah," he smiled.
"Me too! I'm like a horror fanatic I've seen every horror movie ever," i suddenly became attracted to the conversation.
"Halloween?" he asked.
"Seen it," i grinned. "Child's Play?" i shot back.
"Obviously!" he laughed. "Chucky gave me nightmares since i was 6!"
We both laughed as we heard the captain speak over us. We were now landing.
"Jeez the flights gone quick!" i said.
"Yup, by the way whats your name?" he asked.
I was hesitant at first but, honestly what harm can it do? It's not like we're gonna meet again.
"Its Dexter," i answered.
"Like the serial killer?" he laughed.
"Oh your soooo funny, whats yours?"
"Jason," he smirked.
"Wooowwww just like the serial killer?" i fired back.
"Ok you got me there, i'll get you back though," he guaranteed. I sniggered at his response."That's wishful thinking..."
