For Izzy...
It was fine until it wasn't fine,
And you were bent over the wall.
Your heart was beating double time,
Your face was white and cool.
You went unconscious in his arms
And what fucked me up was the calm.
I was watching through a hazed blue filter,
Music playing and in slow motion.
I believed in that moment we'd killed her,
With my own supply of toxin potion.
Stoned out of rationality,
I watched the passion of calamity.
A man walked past as we propped you up,
And I saw the future unfold right there.
Being handcuffed and lead away by cops,
As you fade away, green as your dyed hair.
The rain was beating down hard
And we all stared as our trip soared.
You got up again, thank God,
And the sun came out from behind a cloud.
The pathetic fallacy was odd,
But so fitting as relief was found.
I knew in that moment I loved you friend,
And our long embrace was all you could comprehend.
