"Oh god! I don't think I can do this anymore," Megumi moaned as she plopped her head on top of the notebooks and books spread across the table at the cafeteria after dinner time.
It was a Saturday night and they were free to do as they please since they don't have training during Sundays nor do they have any official matches scheduled either.
"Oi," Miyuki lightly tapped the girl's head with his pen, trying to make her pay attention to him once more.
But all he heard as a response was incomprehensible words of complaint.
"My head is going to explode with all the formulas you're trying to make me memorize!"
The female manager grumbled, looking up at Miyuki through her long lashes. She was trying to imitate a puppy's pleading eyes.
The starting catcher felt his eyes twitching, trying to ignore her through will-power alone. He would not give in to Megumi's pleas no matter what. He had to drill into her head their Math lessons from the other day, or else she would have to stay after classes for a supplementary class.
"The two of you are still here?" Kuramochi asked, as soon as he opened the door of the cafeteria.
Following him were Sawamura and Haruichi; the southpaw pitcher seemed determined about something, while the younger Kominato seemed to enter the room reluctantly.
"Obviously," she sarcastically muttered under her breath. Megumi went back to face-planting herself on the table. Kuramochi only raised an eyebrow at the form of the frustrated girl.
He figured that the two of them would have finished by now. It seems like he over-estimated Megumi too much.
He knew that Megumi is smart, however, she has one, sole weakness when it comes to academics. He and Miyuki now know that she loathes Mathematics too much.
Well, at least they saw a glimpse of it when she tried to hide from their teacher one time, when he was searching for anyone who wanted to solve a problem on the board.
"You'll definitely flunk the quiz on Monday if you don't try to put more effort," Miyuki boredly tapped his pen on his notebook.
Megumi didn't budge one bit at what he said. The starting catcher heaved a deep sigh, before standing up from his seat, making a clattering sound. That caught the girl's attention immediately.
Her eyes were wide alert, as she looked up at him inquisitively. She was sitting on the edge of her seat by now and Miyuki just looked down at her, until he finally spoke.
"I'm going to bed."
He proceeded to walk away when Megumi scrambled off from the chair she was sitting on just to chase after him, while Kuramochi and the first years just watched them disappear behind the sliding door.
"Miyuki Kazuyaaaa!!"
They could hear her screeching from outside, followed by a scolding from the starting catcher because of her loud voice along with how she called him out using his full name.
"What happened to hime-sama?" Sawamura turned his head to Haruichi and Kuramochi, seeking for answers.
"Never mind that. You should head back to our room and study too." The shortstop put a firm hand on his shoulder. As for Haruichi, he only nodded in agreement at what their senior said.

Hey guys, TheWhimsicalNoirette is back after such a long hiatus.
I wanted to apologize for that. Seriously, this semester in university had been very hectic for me.
I had 2 paperworks which, thankfully, I'm finally done with. It ate up so much of my time.
Imagine having a research paper and a marketing plan due for your finals and you have to defend it. The latter, being a competition as well, among the different sections of sophomores who are taking up that course.
Buuuut, I'm so glad my group was able to place second and tomorrow will be the awarding ceremony of the Top 10 groups for that competition.
Christmas vacation is also nearing so hopefully, I would have enough time to write, now that schoolworks are finally out of the way.
On the other hand, I am hoping that everyone liked this omake even though it's so short.
Thank you for patiently waiting for me as well!
Love lots~ ♡
