Chapter 3: It Was the Least I Could Do

I didn't know what to say so I turned to look around. Then I looked him straight in the eye and whispered "I think you're cute..." It was the least I could do, just to tease him around a bit. I could tell he was having fun with this because he was trying not to laugh. Suddenly he burst out laughing, so I pretended to laugh too. He looked down at me (cause i was shorter than him), looked at me from under his eyelashes and bit his lower lip smirking.

I almost died realizing that he liked me...I think.

We finally ended up back in my hotel room blasting Green Day. Brendon sang a long beautifully. Each word that came it was like a rain drop falling on the roof, absolutely stunning. My voice, loud and accented. His voice, calm yet excited somewhat. Speechless.
"Ok guys, I wanna show you something I threw together yesterday." I announced walking toward my electric piano. I glanced at Bren, who was a little worried again about Amanda. He raised his eyebrows to ask if I was ok. I shrugged and set my music sheets up.
"Mind the shitty playing..." I warned starting. As I thought, I played choppy because I wasn't listening to the piano. When I stopped, Bren asked
"Can I give it a try?"
"Sure!" I smiled walking toward where he was standing before. He sat down on the bench looking over the sheet music. Then hrs started playing it with such grave, I actually think I teared up. When he was finished Bren, Dave and I started writing lyrics as a duet.

That I may have faked it and
I wouldn't be caught dead in this place.
After 2 hours or writing lyrics we came up with the song title 'But its Better if You Do' Everyone was jaw dropped. No one knew he could sing or play the piano that well and when he sang the song after I did, his talent is remarkable. Dave kept talking and talking to Bren then we played with the bass and guitar. AMAZING. I'm not jealous, at all.
"Hey Brendon you're great at this... Maybe you should be the lead for this song." I suggested taking a swing from the beer bottle that Dave had opened for me. I looked over at Brendon and he had his eyes raised; he was so happy,
"YES I WOULD LOVE TO!" He boasted
