Loving Olivia is a fourth book in a series, following Chasing Sofia. It can be read as a standalone, but it also shares some of the characters from the previous books.
I would recommend reading Chasing Sofia first if you haven't already (or would like a refresher). Chasing Sofia contains a lot of background info on Nico's character and his life before this book, and if you were to read it after this one you'll run into some spoilers.
