I took in DK's appearance as he drove us to our destination. He wore a white button down with khaki pants and black dress shoes. His glasses perched on the bridge of his nose like usual.
His glasses were one of my favorite things about it. His appearance was just so contradictory to his role on campus, being a fraternity leader after all. While the others on campus seem to be in trouble at one point or another.
He was different, he threw parties for clubs and organizations within the school, not just for the fun of it. His fraternity consisting of some of the smartest kids in the school and not just the average jocks.
Overall, he was something different, and I didn't expect to have him take interest in me, since my sisters and I have been the topic of choice since we stepped foot on campus.
I was taken out of my thoughts when the car pulled to a stop, DK unbuckling his seat belt before coming over to my side, opening the door for him.
I smiled and thanked him after I got outside, his hand taking mine as he lead me into a restaurant.
It was beautiful inside, pure white walls and hints of silver throughout. I watched as he told the hostess something and then we were escorted to the back of the restaurant to a round booth in the corner.
I slid in and he did the same, settling beside me. The hostess handed us the menus before leaving, and I glanced down at the menu.
The prices were insane, and I glanced over at DK who looked up when he felt my eyes on him, "Is something wrong?" He asked concerned.
I shook my head, "Nothing's wrong with me, I just feel they typed this menu wrong and added too many zeros,"
He grinned at my flustered state and slipped his hand into mine beneath the table, reassuring me, "I can pay for it Alaina, don't worry about it,"
I gave him a nod and a meek smile, feeling as if I had made an awkward statement. Soon the waitress was around and we ordered, playing the questions game to pass the time until the food came out.
I propped my elbow up on the table and rested my chin on it, looking over at DK, "What's your full name?"
He smiled and then answered, "Lee Seokmin,"
I smiled at the name, feeling it suited him more than "DK" which he revealed was a nickname given to him in high school by his friend Hansol.
Later on the food had arrived and we began eating. Stopping every now and then to chat.
Soon Seokmin had called for the check and we were then on our way. We walked out of the restaurant hand in hand, "Thank you for tonight,"
He smiled and squeezed my hand, glancing down at me as his eyes crinkled at the ends, "You think tonight is over already?"
I raised an eyebrow at him, "Let me guess, it's a surprise,"
He laughed and nodded, bringing my hand up to press his lips to the back of it before opening the car door, allowing me to get in.
I smiled to myself and we were soon driving again, and I watched as the lights of the city blurred as we drove by.
With the school being in such a secluded area, you begin to miss the flashing lights of the city. I pulled my eyes from the window and watched the road ahead, seeing we were pulling off the road and down a small path.
The trees on either side blocking the moonlight as we drove to the end of the path, soon ending at a small beach. Seokmin parked the car and I opened the door getting out. Leaning against the side of the car and slipping off my heels, setting them inside the car before walking out into the sand.
"I like this suprise," I said as I glanced up at Seokmin, the sound of waves crashing down on the small beach making it seem as if we were the only ones there in that moment.
"I told you good things come to those who wait," he said with a grin and I playfully punched his chest, causing him to pick me up by my waist and begin trekking to the water.
"Lee Seokmin don't you dare," I said hitting his back as he carried me, his body slowly being consumed by water.
Then he stopped, before turning around and walking back up the beach, setting me down on the sand. I put on a fake pout, only making him feel worse.
"I'm sorry," he said scratching the back of his neck, believing my acting.
I couldn't help but crack a smile at his reaction and then begin laughing, his apologetic face now breaking into a grin, "You played me,"
His reaction was enough to keep fueling my laughter, and I walked towards him and wrapped my arms around his neck, "Don't be mad at me, it's fun to mess with you,"
He looked away and I just had to pull his attention back to me. I leaned up and pressed my lips against his, his arms moving to snake around my waist to hold me against him.
I felt him give into the kiss and kiss back, causing butterflies to erupt in my stomach. We pulled back a couple seconds later and I glanced up at the grin on his lips, causing myself to smile.
My attention was diverted away when i saw a small glow emitting through his shirt, my fingers going to undo one of the buttons to reveal it.
A small silver chain around his neck and a small pendant hanging off of it, a small sun engraved into it with a small yellow stone.
My hand pulled back from the pendant and reached for my own, seeing it was glowing as well. But the glow had intensified, seeping through the outlines of the sun engraved on it.
I flipped over my necklace and read the initials on the back "lsm" and looking up at Seokmin, "It's you,"
He flipped his necklace around and showed me the engraving on the back, "kac" my initials written in the silver, "and it's you,"
My heart racing at just the reality we were now faced with, we were soulmates.
