THIRD PERSON POV

As the car pulled up to the church door, Dipper stared absentmindedly out the window. The funeral for Bill was today, however Dipper wasn't entirely sure he was ready to let Bill go. A small glassy tear rolled down Dipper's cheek. When the funeral began, Dipper felt his chest tighten. They were in the same church with Bill and he got married, the same church where they help Mabel's funeral , the same church in which they have Bill's funeral, and the same church in which they would hold Dipper's funeral. Dipper's funeral wouldn't be for a while due to the fact that he still had a lot of life left in him, however that life is diminishing.

The funeral went very slow, the seconds ticked by like hours. Bills eyes stayed closed the entire time , they would stay closed forever. Dipper felt more tears roll down his cheeks, he expected to feel a comforting arm around his back, however it didn't come.

When the funeral ended, Dipper and Stan headed to the cemetery . It started to rain almost as if the whole word was mourning , it made it easier to hide Dipper's tears. Soon it was over . Dipper went home all alone knowing he had no one to go home too. Stan and Soos tried to comfort him as best they could, however it came to no avail . Dipper's depression deepened as the days went on . All he could think about was his beloved Bill whom he would never see again.

Every now and again, Dipper would get a visitor to the large house that Bill and he shared. People would come by with condolences, or with food, or to just make sure he was still alive. With every visit Dipper reassured them that he was fine. Soon days passed, weeks passed, months passed, and years passed. Dipper had never stopped mourning for his lost love . Every day he would go and visit Bill's grave laying a single rose down . Every day Dipper looked at the glass rose on their dresser as one of the last reminders he had of Bill. He never took off his ring , and he never remarried. Soon the people he cared for, Stan , Soos, and Wendy, had all either died or moved away . Dipper was alone . He had no one to turn to. He knew they were only a phone call away , however he wasn't sure how we can go on without his Bill.

It was just another normal day 50 years later . Dipper didn't leave the house anymore, he didn't talk to anyone, the only reason he ever left was when he actually needed food which is usually supplied for him by the kind townsfolk of Gravity Falls . As he went to bed that night, he looked at the glass Rose .

" Good night, Bill . " he said the smirk.

And with that , Dipper closed his eyes for the last time .

"Hey Pinetree, long time no see. "

"Bill ?"

"Hey babe , I'm sorry I left you."

Dipper turned around, and behind him stood his one and only love, Bill. Dipper looked down at his own body , expecting a frail, old, brittle body. He was surprised when he saw he was once again a young man . He was young again, full of hope. He looked around at his surroundings, he noticed that he was among the stars.

" Bill, where are we?"

" We're just where you think we are Pinetree, were among the stars."

" But that's impossible , this is all impossible . This is all just a dream that I'll wake up from in a few minutes, granted I don't want to lose you again."

" Dipper, you're dead."

" What?"

" You and I can be together again, and this time I'm not leaving you ... ever ."

And that night , two new stars appeared. The stars would never be separated again , and so is the legend that binds them . Two lovers separated by death , reunite . In the end, Dipper and Bill never really did leave each other . They were together, they were beautiful, they were stars.
