"We're leaving at one, so you need to try your very hardest to get away from the tv and get ready." Emma was stood in the livingroom with her hands on her hips, looking like a typical impatient mom. "Modern family will still be there when you get back."
I had finished my first week of my new school, and today we were going for a family meal at the Charmings'.
"I'm up." I managed to pull myself up from the world's softest sofa and make my way upstairs.
Emma had bought me a new dress for the meal. She had worried that i wouldn't like it, but I absolutely loved it. The dress was a dark grey, almost black, and had an intricate cutout design at the back. I put my hair into a messy, but definetly presentable bun so that my hair wouldn't cover the pretty design. I borrowed some of Emma's eyeshadow and tried a smokey eye, which ended up being successful.
"I'm ready." It was 12:40 and Henry was still laying on the sofa. "Henry, are you aware that you have 20 minutes to get ready?"
"I'm a boy. I don't take a lifetime to put on an outfit like you two do." Henry rolled his eyes on his way upstairs.
I sat back on the sofa and started watching Modern Family again. I couldn't find the remote to remind the episode, so I just continued watching from where Henry was and hoped it made sense.
"I'm ready." Henry came downstairs wearing a pair of dark grey jeans, a navy plaid button-up shirt, and some black vans.
"I'll just be a minute." Emma insisted. She had gotten up early and decided to make a batch of cookies for the meal. It was all going smoothly until she burnt the first batch. Instead of buying some from the bakery, she attempted to make another batch in record speed. She has managed to do it, and was not arranging them in a large tin.
"Do you need any help?" I asked."
"Nope, I'm done." Emma picked up the tin and hurried to the front door. "Have you seen my keys?"
"They're in your hand." Henry pointed."
"Right, okay. Let's go." Emma seemed slighly nervous about this family reunion, even though I had met everyone at least once before.
The three of us easily fitted into Emma's yellow car. Henry got to the front seat first, so I sat in the back and guarded the cookies. We were at Mary Margaret and David's apartment before we knew it.
I hadn't been to the Charming's' apartment before, so followed behind Emna and Henry.
"Hey!" Mary Margaret opened the door with a contagious smile painted onto her pale face. She hugged each of us as we entered.
The apartment looked like something from tumblr. There was a retro/vintage theme that brought the open plan room together. The large main room had the kitchen, dining room, and sitting room all together, but wasn't crowded at all. You generally expected apartments to be s lot smaller than houses, but the apartment seemed to be huge.
"I have cookies!" Emma announced excitedly. She was clearly very proud of her newfound baking skills.
"Well, I made a whole dinner for 5 and a half people." Mary Margaret competed with her daughter.
"That's different. You except grandma's to be able to cook, but you don't expect Emma Swan to be able to bake." Emma looked genuinely upset about her cookies being under appreciated.
Henry showed me around the apartment while we waited for lunch to be served. We were just finishing up with the last room when David called us in.
