"I'm just not feeling it anymore"

As he said it a harsh breath escaped her body, she had lost him, it was all her fault. She was a horrible person and he couldn't bear it anymore.

"Say something"

She just looked at him, what was she supposed to say? How was she supposed to react when she had just lost the only thing left in her life.

"I'm sorry" was the only thing that she could think of.

She was sorry, she was so sorry, she had wasted so many years of his life and she was planning on wasting so many more without his permission. Most of all, she was sorry that when she went down a year ago she dragged him down with her.

"You don't have to be sorry"

"But I am, I am so sorry, probably more sorry than I've ever been."

She could feel tears forming in her eyes

"Thank you for everything, goodbye"

She didn't want him to see her cry, and the only way to ensure that he wouldn't was to leave.
