Okami: The Sakura Guardians of the Heavens.

300 Years previously, the Great Orochi, the high beast that had been thoroughly terrorizing Kamiki Village had been courageously slain be the great warrior Nagi and the white Wolf, Shiranui. At their triumph; Nagi managed to save his beloved Nami, from the death-grip of Orochi. However, Shiranui payed a dear price or the winning of this fight- The great white Wolf lost his life a few days after. After this great success, a statue of the Wolf was erected in his honour for saving the Village and his residents. Everyone in Nippon was at peace, that was, until 100 years afterwards. 

Darkness had once again began to fall over Nippon, coating each and every Village, land-mark, and any other crack that could and could not be seen, just like a blanket. The Great Orichi's spirit, had been reborn. All of the sea creatures were driven crazy, some so much so that even the Great Sea King of the Dragonians; Wada, become a Sea Dragon in order to protect his people and forced himself to death doing so. Even the great Wood Sprite Sakuya inhabiting the Divine Sakura tree Konohana in Kamiki Village that gains it's divine power from the many Guardian Saplings scattered around Nippon, nearly perished due to the constant decrease in well-being of the Sakura trees. It was then at around that moment, Sakuya summoned from the statue; Amaterasu, the female re-incarnation of Shiranui. She was their only remaining hope. Working together with her Celestial envoy, Issun the Poncle, she and her new friends bgan to tackle the darkness with their overwhelming light. After the death of Wada, the Dragonian ruler, the horrific fall of Queen Himiko at her palace in Sei-An City at the deceiving hands of the Nine-Tails, Rao. After saving all of the other Brush-Gods, gaining their power, Meeting a strange yet familiar friend; Waka, scaling thye North with Oki and meeting her former self Shiranui, she eventually freed All of Nippon from it's cursed zones after defeating Orochi with the descendant of Nagi; Susano, and deafeating numerous amounts of other Demon's and monsters; our Amaterasu found the source of the Drakness. The Ark of Yamato, said to be a once heavenly ship that fell from the Celestial Plain, was harbouring Yami, a true master of the Darkness. Amaterasu soon lost her power against him, and thought all was lost. This was until everyone that she'd ever met on Earth in Nippon; had began to pray for her. Her powers had returned, and she was blessed with the power of her original self; Shiranui, gaing her 'Solar Flare' Reflector back once more. After the long, tiring and troublesome battle, Amaterasu finally won Yami over, defeating him completely. Nippon was safe again, once more. After making as swift recovery and saying her goodbye's to hear dear friend Issun, he who had helped her so much throughout her journey, was nearly brought to tears at her departure. She also bid Oki her goodbye's, and he smiled, trying not to show that he too, truly was upset about her leaving to go back to the Celestial Plain with Waka, who was a Celestial being himself. After they both borded the Ark, It sped off into the sky, and vanished. 

And yet; it was barely one year after this that Amaterasu sent her own son back down from the Heaven's where they both resided to Nippon. The land was once again, in peril. Chibiterasu followed in his mother's pawprints and with his many Envoy's, he too, defeated the rising Darkness, despite him only being a pup. 

And now, the story is set 100 Years after the reigning victory of now fully grown Chibiterasu. You'd think that after all of the previous journey's, that this would in fact be the end of the story. However, there are a few un-suspecting people in Nippon who's names will soon be painted onto scrolls by the Brush God's themselves, and will be remebered by all... For the story of our journey, has only just begun.
