The cold water ran down my dark skin dripping onto the white tiles of my shower. I let the water cover every inch of my body taking in the icy feeling that came with it. I stepped out of the shower reaching for my pearly white towel to dry myself off. I smiled to myself as I took a glance at myself. Today was going to be busy I just hope I can still have a good day.
I dressed into my regular attire which was simply tattered black skinny jeans, a loose grey tank top, and a pair of black converse.
Trust me my shoes and I have went through some tough times together. I grabbed my purse and an apple before I bolted out the door to make sure I wasn't late for my last day of school. Being me I was thirty minutes early.I simply sighed as grab my things from my locker and head to my homeroom. As usual I was the first person to enter the classroom after the teacher. No speaking was involved as the teacher greeted me. Not that I wasn't completely fine with that. I just sat down by the window and read.
When I lifted my head from my book I noticed the seats had started to fill up. Students chattered loudly to my discomfort.
I couldn't wait for school to be over and it hadn't even started yet. All I wanted was to be left alone and enjoy some peace.I stared out the window, I saw a bird glide across the sky as if had been born there. The bird flew to the window and pecked at it.
Peck peck peck pause peck peck peck pause peck peck peck
This went on for ages until it left as if giving up trying to get me to understand. The bell rung signaling for the classes to start. After everyone settled down the useless droning of the teacher started. Though I hate it I have to pay attention for the sake of my grades.
I sighed before grabbing my pencil and taking notes.
The school day seemed to drag on endlessly, the only thing keeping me even close to sane was my ruby necklace. I wished then that I had noticed its strange glow then I would have been prepared for what was about to happen. Honestly though I don't think anything could have prepared me for what was about to happen.
******I look at the clock on the wall, and I groan when I realize we're only two hours into the school day. I pulled out a piece of paper to doodle on and started my drawing.
When I finished my drawing I set my pencil down to examine my work. The drawing was of no one I knew but oddly it seemed familiar. The dark curly hair that reached the waist seemed to wave even on the paper. The stormy blue eyes seemed to hold dark secrets as the beautiful face glared up at me. What really held my fascination though was the wings.
They stood mighty and tall and filled all the remaining space of the paper. They were a strong grey feathery bunch. The feathers looked so soft. Like a dozen clouds were bound into it. I reached down and let my hand glide along the feathery pattern if the wings.
I took my hand back shakily as I realized that the once papery wings I was touching now felt real. I calmed down any reached to touch them again to make sure it was real.
*crash*
The ear-splitting sound of glass breaking filled the room. Everyone felt the strong winds hit us as the glass of the windows broke. It took me awhile to notice that even thought I had been sitting right by the window there seemed no sign of injury, I was stunned by this but didn't get the chance to rejoice when lightning struck the tree next to the window.Instead of screaming we acted reasonable and tried to figure out what was happening. Haha yeah sure we did. Everyone was in panic mode, and the teacher we all thought as calm and collected was under his desk with tears in his eyes muttering about the end of the world.
