* 8 hours later *
We'd finally made it into California and were about 3 or so hours from San Francisco when I got a call.
"This is Jez" I said.
"941 Rose Ave" a deep voice said and hung up.
"Who was that?" Sam asked groggily.
"The employer I got this job from, at least I think so, he just gave me an address in 'Frisco" I told him.
"Oh I see, so I assume you know where this place is right?" He asked.
"Yea, unfortunately" I murmured.
As I was thinking about this Sam's phone decided to ring.
"Yea" he answered. I heard talking on the other end of the phone but couldn't make anything out.
"You found him?! Well it's about time. Did you ask him where's he's been and why he ditched us back in Boulder?" Sam asked. I gave him a glance and he looked at me and rolled his eyes and mouthed
"Dean" he mouthed.
"Ah I see" I snickered. And he stuck his tongue out at me of all the ridiculous things a grown man can do, he stuck his tongue out at me, I blushed and giggled, before turning my eyes back to the road and traffic that seemed to spring up from nowhere. I groaned inwardly.
I propped my elbow on the door armrest and leaned my head against my hand and drove with one hand and an irritated look. As Sam finished his call he looked at me and then looked away quickly when I'd caught him watching me. I did a double take because I swear I saw him blushing.
I gave a smirk and turned back to what I was doing.
"How did you manage to get into hunting?" I asked finally, easing the silence a little.
"It's a really long story honestly, you really wanna hear it?" He answered.
"Hmm, let's see, between the three hours we have left I think I've got time" I laughed. He smiled and took a deep breath before he began.
"I was little when this happened so I have literally no memory of what happened" he said.
"All I know is that my mother died in a suspicious house fire, that originated from my nursery in 1983, I was only six months old, my dad tried to save her but later he told me that a demon killed her" He finished.
"Did you ever find the demon that killed her?" I asked.
"Yea we did, and killed him too" he replied.
"But it still bothers you?" I nervously asked.
"Sometimes it does" he said, giving me a small smile.
"Well in my personal experience I've seen some weird stuff, and I've also seen people I love die right in front of me, so in a way, I know how you feel" I said.
"And it doesn't get any easier" he added.
"No it doesn't" I confirmed. We then lapsed into a comfortable silence, I feel like we know a little more about each other and I can easily say having him around to watch my back definetly takes some tension out of the job we're about to do. As we were approaching the exit we were getting off on. My eyes started to get a little heavy and I weaved before snapping out of it.
"Hey whoa there, you alright" Sam asked concerned, again, for my well being.
"Yea just tired" I answered sleepily.
"I think it's time for a driver change" he said.
"Okay" I said, not even arguing back.
"Keep your foot on the accelerator, and I'll slide under you" he instructed.
As I moved up he slid under me and if he saw my face, he'd probably think I looked like a tomato. But I was so sleepy. And for the brief moment that I was on his lap, I could feel how muscular his chest was. And I blushed again, so I just fell over and ended up knocking my head against the door on the other side.
"Oww" I mumbled.
"You okay?" He said, trying to stifle his laugh. I gave him a pointed look and flopped over where my head was in his lap. He stiffened, and I instantly thought I'd crossed a line. He slowly adjusted himself where he put one of his hands in my hair and started to run his fingers through it and I soon fell into a deep sleep. His lips were soft but the way he kissed me was so full of passion and love, it took my breath away. My fingers went to his hair and threaded themselves through his long hair, tugging lightly. He groaned and pulled me closer running his hands down my body, over my hips, gripping me tightly and slowly trailing his hands lower. And...
"Jez, Jez!" I heard someone calling my name. I jolted awake suddenly.
"Wha-what, where are we?" I ask a little panicked.
"We're at a hotel" Sam said.
"Oh, okay, let's go get settled in then" I smiled, then I remembered my dream.
Oh god, I hope I don't make a habit of this, I thought solemnly. I grabbed my stuff from the back and climbed out into the cool air. I looked up and noticed a hotel, it wasn't gaudy but it wasn't roach infested. It was cozy. Sam bumped me softly and motioned me to follow him.
"Welcome" said the small old lady behind the reception desk.
"Hey, I need a room for two, please" Sam said kindly.
"One bed or two?" She asked. Sam looked confused for a second then looked at me and blushed and started to stutter really bad.
"Two, please" I said giving the woman an amused smile.
"Of course" she said giving a small laugh. I looked up at Sam and he was blushing profusely. He looked at me, I swear if his face could get any redder, it would've by the way he looked at me. I blushed slightly, and turned my attention back to the small woman.
"Room 1204" she said smiling and handing the room key to me. I shouldered my bags and took the key from her.
"Thank you" I said and smiled.
We walked in silence for a while and then reached the elevator, I hit the button and we waited in a comfortable silence and once the elevator came down we got in and rode it up to the fourth floor, where we disembarked and walked slowly down the deserted corridor to our room and I pushed the key into the slot and opened the door into a cozy room with two beds side by side.
"Finally a bed" I said flopping face first into the bed.
"Looks like someone could use a long nap" Sam laughed.
"You have no idea" I replied, amused.
"Go ahead and shower, I know you want one, I'll stay out here and set everything up" he said smiling.
"Well don't mind if I do" I said sassily.
I opened up my suitcase and grabbed a tank top and shorts. I went into the small bathroom next to the bedroom and stripped and took what felt like the best shower of my life. After I'd felt nice and clean I got out and put on the tank top and shorts. I came out and noticed Sam sitting on his bed with his head in his hands.
"Hey, everything okay?" I asked nervously.
"Huh? Oh Yea everything's fine just tired is all" he smiled. That damn smile is gonna be the death of me.
"Oh okay then" I said, "showers all yours if you need one I'm gonna head to bed, I'm quite possibly the most exhausted person ever" I giggled.
"Probably" Sam laughed.
"'Night" I said sweetly.
"Goodnight" he said smirking.
I laid on my bed and got under the comforter and faced the wall which happen to be where his bed was. I heard him turn on the water and heard him humming a tune. I couldn't recognize it, but soon I'd heard him end his shower and the door open. I stayed as still as I could, and breathed softly. He walked to his bag and I happen to notice he only had a towel on, his back was to me, so I got a full view of his back muscles. And I was not disappointed.
Oh my god, Jez stop it this is so illegal, I scolded myself. And why do I like it so much? I noticed movement and he turned around and I got a full frontal view of his abs and I noticed how his towel was hanging dangerously low on his hips. I almost gasped, so I closed my eyes instead. Willing sleep to come to me quickly.
Thank god that it did.
But not before I heard him say.
"Oh Jez, what are you doing to me" he whispered.
I will think about that in the morning. Right now sleep. I soon fell into the soothing darkness of a dreamless sleep.
