Being Kazekage is troublesome...

A/N:

I read that if Gaara didn't marry anyone, automatically, Shikadai would be the 6th Kazekage.

The day wasn't really agreeing on a poor little pineapple head, dark green eyed Nara...namely, Nara Shikadai, son of Nara Shikamaru (the right hand of the Hokage of Konoha and also a very smart strategist) and Nara Temari (the elder sister of the Kazekage and former Jinchuriki of Shukaku or the One Tail, Gaara and the Puppet Master, Kankuro and a smart, 'spunky' and 'subtle as a rhino' woman, according to his father).

All he wanted was a day without troublesome missions, a day with him taking a nap under the sun and playing shogi or simulation games.

But no! His parents had to take him to a Suna, and in this time of year, Sunagakure has extremely smoking temperature...

"Mataku..." he groaned as he remembered what the Elders of Suna talked about with his parents and uncles. No, he wasn't eavesdropping. It just so happens he forgot his game console and he was walking around the Kazekage tower when he overheard their conversation;

Flashback No Jutsu

Gaara: What?!

Elders: Yes. If you retire, not married or not having a child, automatically, your nephew, Shikadai, would be the next Kazekage due to our hereditary system...

Temari: My...son would be Kazekage?

Shikamaru: *yawns* But I don't promise that he'll agree on this. He's my son after all...so, its either you get a girlfriend and get married or my son becomes Kazekage...

Gaara: Hnph...

Flashback No Jutsu Release

"AHHH! MOU!!" the little Nara groaned as he clutched his head. He knew what being a Kazekage means. He sees how the Nanadaime, Naruto, works with dozens of paperworks all day...it would be just one word for him: TROUBLESOME!

Suddenly, his phone rang, and when he looked at it, he saw Chocho, Inojin, Boruto, Sarada and Himawari are inviting him on a joint video call.

He picked up and sat on the bench near his Aunt Matsuri's house.

"What?"

"Shikadai! Haven't seen ya in a while!" Chocho yelled which made him twitch and groan again

"Doshitano, Shikadai? Why you groaning like that?" Inojin asks, his voice full of concern for his teammate.

"Yeah. You don't groan like that unless you became entrusted on a duty that you are too lazy to do. What happened-ttebasa?" Boruto asked, he was a more keen observer now

"It's about the leadership here in Suna...it's too troublesome..." Shikadai answered, the flashbacks of his parents, his uncles and the elders replaying in his head

"What do you mean?" Himawari asks, all of them are really curious

"The Elders here told my uncles and my parents that if my Uncle Gaara doesn't get married or have a son, automatically, I would be selected as the new Kazekage..." Shikadai narrated, his dark green eyes closing as he groaned in laziness again.

They all stayed quiet...

Well, until Sarada squealed like a fangirl and almost caused him ear damage.

"Troublesome girl...why are you shrieking?" Shikadai complained as he glared at his raven classmate

"That is such an honor, Shika! No fair you got to be selected as an Kage-to-be! No matter! I'll become Hokage too, just you wait, Shannaro!" Sarada replied as she fixed her eyeglasses and Shikadai smiled innocently at his classmate.
