It was the end of the year, and everyone including me was presumably anxious about summers fast approach. I myself was a little more on edge because I just got my drivers license and now have the ability to drive whereever. My best friend Simon was going to tag along with me and my friends on an 2 week trek across the back country of the United states. Simon is very nervous when it comes to confrontation, and he cares what everyone else thinks about him, so coming along with my friends was a big step for him. Since my group of friends including Simon enjoy off-roading, we all are going on a road trip across the country, but right now, I can't even think about the fun trek. All I can think about is-- well never mind. At five o'clock, Simon and my friend Eileen will be coming over to hang out a little more before the road-trip. My ride is a 2014 Nissan Xterra Pro-4x which is my dream car for this adventure. Simon's ride is a 2002 Land Rover Discovery Series II, which is known for its legendary off-roading abilities. Last but not least, Eileen has a 2007 Jeep Liberty, which fits her style to a T. Right at 5 o'clock, Simon rang the doorbell and not shortly after Eileen showed up; and we went over key details of the trip. After we sort of finalized our trip, the two of them went home and I watched some TV. The next morning, I got up and walked to Daniel's house. He said he didn't want to go with us, but he is Christian's old friend so I figure I'd ask him one last time. Daniel can be very rude at times, although he usually is pretty go with the flow. He chose to buy a 2009 Ford F-150 as his off-road machine. I rang his doorbell, and he said he did want to go. However, I was surprised that Daniel was already fully packed, and this was odd because he was usually very unorganized. With that, Daniel and I went inside to watch a movie. The movie we watched happened to both be our favorite movie, Predator. Within about an hour, which is the best part of the movie, the doorbell rings, and it's Eileen. Eileen is the kind of person who loves to please people, and usually is very witty. When she walked in, she immediately did not agree with our movie choice and proceeded to leave the room. However, five minutes later, Eileen came back into the room with a snack and actually sat down to watch the movie with us, which I was shocked and so was Daniel.

"Hey guys, aren't yall excited about the trip," she said cautiously.

"Yeah, it will be fun to get some good practice off-roading and such," I mutter rather stupidly.

"You'd better be careful," Daniel sneered, "You don't want that cheap import of yours to fall apart midway in the boonies," He chuckled.

"Well, if mine falls apart before yours, I owe you a lunch," I say reassuringly.

"Fine then your going to owe me lunch," I say going along with the joke.

With that banter aside, the 3 of us finished watching our movie.
