Here is the Surprise which I promised you last week.

A SURPRISE to all my kindest readers. Jazakallah khairoon.

I hope you will like this.

Or maybe, love it..

Oh my nafs! How can you find paradise if you can't find the one who created it?

Chapter 26

Standing here in the balcony, with my cold hands wrapped around the hot cup of coffee, in a frozen December, I gaze at the wide and never ending sea. The atmosphere was calm and cool. Cold chills swept through my body as I sip the hot streaming coffee savouring the warmth in my mouth and down my throat. And I closed my eyes to open the book of memories.

As I walked into the room, I saw HER standing in the balcony facing towards the sea. The red embroidered shawl around her head, which was my grandma's wedding shawl that she gave me for my future wife, was perfectly matching her white dress. It seems that she was enjoying the beautiful view of sea in front of her.

"Excuse me" I said and she turned towards me as her eyes widened and my lips curved into smile. She didn't reply and I asked her, "What are you doing here?"

And still she didn't reply.

On that day, she was exactly standing in the place where I was standing right now. Looking up into the cold blue sky, I whisper her name.

"I miss you, Reen."

Probably it was going to be a busy day just like any other day. I had joined dad's company. No, actually I'm continuing his business as he took a permanent resignation from the company despite the fact that he helps us in some major decision making.

I rummaged through my clothes in the wardrobe while something got my attention.

The Red Embroidered Shawl.

"Excuse me" I said again and her quick reply came that she entered the room thinking it was Ashi's as she was walking off the room.

Again the red shawl got my attention and said, "Shawl"

She stopped and the red embroidered shawl was losing its beauty as she took off the shawl.

I asked her to keep it as the shawl looked beautiful on her head. But she refused and kept it on the bed as I looked at it and thought,

She is a stranger, why did I even ask her to keep it?

"Sir, Shaista Madam is calling you down for the breakfast," the maid's call brushed away the past and I shifted my gaze from the shawl while the answer for my question echoed, 'Because she is not a stranger, but my love.'

I walked off my room to Ashi's and switched off her AC to wake her up.

"Bhai, please get the quilt from the storage. Fareen Appi might be freezing in my room's AC." Ashi said to me while I was reciting Quran in the balcony.

"You get it." I said pausing the recitation.

"Bhai, please I have a lot of notes to complete.." and she opened her never ending box of excuses.
