Drake's P.O.V.

---

My phone vibrating pulls me out of a deep sleep.

"Hey Drake. Is it too late?" Skylar whispers into the phone. I glance at the glowing red numbers on my alarm clock, which confirm it is.

"Nope. What's up babe?" I say, sitting up on stretching my arms out.

"I can't sleep. Will you stay on the phone with me for a while?" She asks softly.

"You got it babe." I murmur.

I hear her breathing over the phone. I love hearing the steady in-out rhythm of her breaths.

"You still awake Sky?" I whisper. No reply. I stay on the phone a while longer to make sure she's asleep.

When I finally hang up it's 2:37 a.m., and now I can't sleep. I pull out my phone and flip through my pictures.  Most of them are Skylar and me.

She's the most beautiful girl in the world. I would die if I lost her. I still remember the day I met her, it was the I fell for her, too.

It was seventh grade, she was the new girl. She had just moved here from North Dakota. She was immediately accepted into the 'popular' group. Not a bad popular, just that everybody knows who you are and everybody wants to be your friend.

She was the quiet one of the group, always sitting quietly. By being part of the 'popular group' in seventh grade meant you had to go to boys sporting events. Basketball in the fall, hockey in the winter. While her friends would laugh and wave from the stands, she sat by them, head slightly hung.

I was on the basketball team, so I loved when she would come. I would always try my hardest to impress her. She showed no interest, though.

I wanted her to like me so bad, I did everything I could. But the more girlfriends I went through the more distant she got.

She had a boyfriend all of Freshman year. After they broke up she dyed her hair blonde and got an even deeper tan. I still loved her all the same, though.

And what do you know? New look, new Skylar. Instead of making her jealous of other girls, I wanted other girls to be jealous of her. So, Sophomore year I asked her out. We went on a few dates, then I asked her to be my girlfriend.

------

My alarm clocks beeps, signalling it's time to get out of bed. I send my usual good-morning text to Skylar.

Drake: Hey babe(: Good-morning!

Skylar: Mornin. Happy Friday(:

Drake: We going somewhere tonight?

Skylar: Movie at my house?

Drake: Sounds good babe. See ya in a few.

I toss my phone on the counter and hop into the shower.

When I get out I throw on some baller-shorts and a black t-shirt. Then I grab my keys and run out the door. My damp hair hangs in front of my eyes slightly curling at the ends. I push it out of my eyes and start the car.

-----

My day passes slowly. Minutes turn to hours. I can't wait for my movie date with Skylar. My phone flashes with a notification. Reminder: Tomorrow. Anniversary. I mentally slap myself. How could I forget?

"What movie's we gonna watch baby?" I ask as we go to Skylar's basement. "I was thinking a Saw marathon." She replies. I love this girl.

Half an hour later we have a large bowl of popcorn, and a two-liter of Coke.

Skylar presses the 'play' button, then lays her head in my lap. I stroke her silky blonde hair. It's hard to believe she's been mine for two years. It feels like it's been just weeks.

"Drake... Drake wake up." Skylar nudges me, her head still in my lap. "Whoa, Sky what time is it?" I ask groggily.

"1:27 in the morning. I guess we both fell asleep."

"Alright, I should go. I'll pick you up at 7:00 tonight for dinner. Happy anniversary, Sky baby."

Today marks the second year of the happiest of my life.
