In Anna's dreams, she was a princess.
She lived in a shimmering castle with people who adored her. She had her own room and closet, which was filled with clothes and shoes and had a family who loved her.
But, again, those were only dreams, weren't they?
''The one who is last up, I swear, will stay all night scrubbing the floor clean!''
Anna groaned and rolled over as she tried to block out the sound of everyone buzzing around her. She hated waking up, because her reality was cruel. It was nothing like her dreams.
Suddenly, everything became quiet. Anna opened one eye and saw that the room was empty. She frowned. Nobody tried to get her to wake this time again. She sighed as she pushed the covers of her and heaved herself up out of the beds shortside. If she was sneaky, she might not be noticed by Mother Gothel this time.
She pulled out a box under her bed that cointained everything she owned. Half of it was clothes that she had gotten from the orphanage. The other half was what Mother Gothel and the other children deemed as ''trash''. They thought Anna was weird for playing with sticks and stones while there was ''real'' toys to play with. Anna knew that she wasn't weird. She just saw what other people couldn't see in the most simplest things.
She braided her curly hair into two plaits and lazily dressed herself in long dungarees and a red sweater. She tied a cloth around her forehead, pushing her bangs out of her eyes.
Anna pressed her ear against the door, listening after any footsteps or shouts. When she didn't hear anything, she gently turned the knob and peeked out. No one was to be seen. Anna opened the whole way. Still empty.
Anna quietly shuffled her feet on the floor and gently shut the door. She thought about runing outside and never coming back again, but the hope about someone coming to adopt her or her family coming back for her overweighed the option.
She hurried down the stairs and ran to the dinning room. When she arrived everybody was seated on two long tables, devouring the porridge in their bowls.
Anna tried to slink to a free seat when she felt a hand on her shoulder and nails as sharp as knives. Anna's body went rigid and every head in the room turned to Anna and Gothel.
Why today? Must it be infront of everybody?
''Hard time getting up Anna?''
Anna didn't answer.
''What is your excuse this time for being last again? Did you get caught in your sheets (okay, a very bad lie) ? Or did a bee fly in through the window and you were the only one brave enough to kill it (true, even though the other children wouldn't admit it)?'' A few snickers were heard through the room.
''Nobody tried to wake me'' Anna accused, still sad about it, even though she should be used to it by now.
Mother Gothel laughed.
''But I annouced that you shall be up five minutes ago!''
''Well, you know I am such a heavy sleeper Gothel'' Anna replied.
''Well, I hope you can sleep tonight, because this whole house's floor shall be spotless before you can go back to bed'' Gothel told her and Anna could feel her smug grin from behind her back.

That night, Anna scrubbed the floor as hard as she could, trying to relase her anger on the dirty floor.
Something was wrong with her and everybody knew it. Strange things happened around Anna. Flowers grew when she was happy, cracks errupted where she walked and everytime she would bite her nails, they would grow back a minute later.
