Today was the big day, I was moving to New York with my family. I stared blankly at the damaged brown boxes as i left my room, shutting the door tightly on the way out. I could only bring my essentials, clothes, make-up etc. I had to leave my band since I would be there for 2 years. I just hope they're successful in what ever they may chose to do. I slowly dragged my feet across the old, dusty carpet. Although I hate it here, I sure am going to miss it here. More or less the people than the place.
"Lyndsey! move or we'll miss our flight!"
"ugh. Coming mom, jeez"
"Also to remind you, no boyfriends and certainly no girlfriends, you know i'd be disappointed in you if you came out as gay, you know i wouldnt like that."
I glared at my mom in shame to even call her my mom, I cant believe she would say that. Since I came out to my dad he's been supporting me but my mom has her suspicions. She's homophobic. I sat in the backseat of the cab, my eyes started tearing up. I tried to hold myself together but broke down in shame of myself for being categorised as 'different'. I don't understand why im different to all my family, is there something wrong with me or is it just them.
"oh lyndsey, why are you crying..." my mother said annoyed
"nothing mom, nothing." i snapped back
My mom rolled her eyes at me and told me to grow up which made me cry even more.As soon as we got to the airport i jumped out and grabbed my luggage and waited for my family. We were running late so as soon as our luggage got sent off we went straight to our terminal gate where we would wait for 20 minutes.
I had recently been talking to a girl by the name of Alexa San Roman, I fell for her the minute I saw her grey-green eyes, she is so beautiful. The way she flips her hair, the way she smiles, the way she talks...just her in general, she's too cute. I really hope I can meet her now I'm moving to NYC for college.*at New York*
After sitting on a 4 hour plane ride I couldn't wait to get off and stretch my legs. As soon as the plane landed everyone started to cheer, I rolled my eyes and stuck my headphones back in, "like god damn it people, it's just a city..." I mumbled under my breath.
"Lyndsey! Just because you're in a bad mood doesn't mean you need to take it out on everyone else!"We went through severity to get checked over etc and grabbed our luggage which led to our cab.
"Are you the gunnelfsun family?"
"Gunnulfsen, and yes, we are"
"Sorry ms gunnulfsen, please follow me, I'll lead you to your cab which will take you to your villa"
"Thank you officer"*lynns p.o.v*
I can't believe I've been forced out of my home time, I've lived there for 18 years, I've left my band, my college, my job and most importantly my friends. I miss them already. At least one things good out of this, I may have a girlfriend, her name is Alexa San Roman. She's 22 and absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to meet her. I just don't want my mom to find out that I'm gay, ever!
Until tomorrow
Lynn xThe delivery driver turned up at my house a few hours after we got there. I just wanted to sleep at this point, I can't be bothered.
"Lyndsey, can you help me bring in some furniture please?!"
"What about max?" I shouted back
"Your brother is helping dad build!"
"Ugh fine okay I'll be there now" I groaned
"Look Lyndsey, darling"
"Don't call me darling" I snapped and cut my mom off.
"Lyndsey, we may not get along very well but please don't treat me with disrespect me, after all I am your mother and I only want the best for your future."
"What by taking the me away from my friends? By not supporting me? Great mom"
"I get it, you hate me for dragging you out here but there are better colleges for you out here"
"I didn't want to go to college mom. I wanted to stay in my band. I want to make music not be a pathetic lawyer like you. For fuck sake"
"Lyndsey!! Don't swear at me!"
I stormed out of the house leaving my mom and the driver to load into the house and I wandered off to a shopping mall and used all my dollars in new clothes and room decor.
"I'm so sick of my mom" I complained to Alex and Brian, beginning to tear up on FaceTime
"Hey Lynn! It's going to be okay, 2 years and we'll see you again!!"
"Exactly, that's 2 years too long."
"Uhh Lynn?"
"What?"
"Who's that"
"Who" I begin to panic
"Behind you! With short blonde brown hair!!"
I turn around and to my shock it was her.
"Alexa!? What, no way!! You live around here?!""I thought you weren't coming till August!!!"
"Yeah my mom changed her mind!"
Alexa kissed me softly but pulling away quickly. "Oh my god, I am SO sorry"
"N-no don't b-be" I stuttered in surprise of what just happened. "I-I liked it" I quietly responded.
"Hey do you want to come over for tea tonight"
"Uh yeah actually I'd love too, I'm not really looking to go back home rn"
"What? Why? Are you okay?"
"Yeah just my mom, we got into a fight. We hate each other and my dad goes to work tonight so we'll probably argue all night" I sighed
"Well you can crash at my place if necessary? I have a guest room"
"I'd love too, thank you"
"Alright do you need me to come with you so you can get your stuff"
"It's okay, I'll meet you back here in an hour. My mom, she's homophobic"
"Oh. Okay see you in an hour!"*Lynns POV*
Alexa's face dropped when I told her my mom is homophobic. I have a gut feeling this just isn't going to work out. She's a lovely girl, I absolutely adore her, but how is this going to work with my mom going against us.*Alexa's POV*
I planned on asking Lynn to be my girlfriend soon but I just found out her moms homophobic so I'm scared she'll say no. I fear rejection. Lynn is so so beautiful, her eyes. Oh my god, I can't help but stare. The way she plays with her hair and twiddle her fingers. She's perfect. She's all I ever wanted. She's crashing in my guest room later so maybe I can get to know her better.
