Kaze
“I never thought this day would come!” Lippy, Sarah’s loyal sprite (who looks more like a flurry dog) sniffed. He floated down onto my shoulder as I adjusted my tie. “I never thought you, the Great Savior, and Lady Sarah are to wed! Oh happy days!”
I groaned, glaring at Lippy. “For the last time, we are not actually getting married! Sarah and her friends the Kanonnos triplets wanted to participate in the bridal fair.”
Lippy smiled mischievously. “A-are you saying you have no interest in marrying Lady Sarah?!”
“Huh?!” I cried, fairly sure my cheeks were bright red. “I- I like her as a friend…. I- I mean if s-she… urg…”
“Oooooh!”Lippy sang, floating closer to my face. “Kaze’s in love! Kaze’s in love!”
I swatted at Lippy like he was a fly, blushing like mad, while all the while, blushing like mad. Sarah was my closest friend and one I will hold dear. She and Lippy happily took me in when they found me aimlessly wandering some ruins. I had lost all my memories and besides my own name, I remember nothing prior of waking up in those ruins. Sarah probably doesn't know, but she and Lippy saved my life. I was on my last leg, holding onto the barest of threads of my life. Sarah and Lippy quickly abandoned the battle they were in the middle of and treated me until I was better. The least I could do was journey with them and help them save her older brother. He is still out there, possessed by something. As the Great Savior, it is my job to purify the evil that takes gold of this world. And I shall stop at nothing until I have saved Sarah’s brother. I'm doing it as a friend. Right?
“Come on!” I yelled, pushing Lippy off me. “Stop making fun of me!”
Lippy continued to sing happily, as I tried my best to look poised and calm. It wasn't easy with the small dog like sprite singing about my nonexistent love life.
“Really…” I sighed, running a hand through my hair. “How did I get myself into this?”
~ Earlier that day ~
I watched as Sarah’s eyes widened in happiness at the giant banner stretched across the town’s open space.
Fourteenth Annual Bridal Fair held at the church at five o’clock. Bring your bridal dresses and rings and enjoy mock wedding with your friends!
“Kaze!” Sarah yelled, her pink ponytail bouncing with her. “We should enter!”
“Sure, I would like to- wait what?” I stammered. This was the first time in my amnesiac memory that I had ever seen something as out there as a bridal fair, much less participated in one. “Wait, Sarah, hold on a-”
“Erhart! Grassvalley! Pasca!” Sarah yelled, bounding over to some friends, completely ignoring me.
The Kanonnos triplets, Erhart, Grassvalley, and Pasca were some of Sarah’s closest friends we often visited if our missions brought us to the town. They all had pink hair, like Sarah, and green eyes. Sarah could truly be one of them, if not for her blue eyes. Honestly, that was the only way I could point her out.
“Kaze!” Sarah waved me over. “The Kanonnos say they want to join the bridal fair as well!”
“Kaaaaazzzzeeeee!” The triplets sang together.
“It's nice to see you all again.” I smiled, waving at each of them. “Are you here for the fair?”
Pasca nodded. “We are!”
“We sent Sarah a letter last week, saying that we should all participate in the fair together!” Erhart added happily.
I felt a vein throb above my eyebrow. That's why she was so insistent on coming here! She said it was for a mission!
