Track season started and it was just me and Raymond on our own, Liam was trying and failing to be a social butterfly. After a month the season really began to take off, and my feelings for Aaliyah finally started to fade thanks to thinking about my experience with Mckenzie Cain. I had goals. I changed a lot about myself and began talking to a lot of new people. These people were the track team. Raymond and I began to have a very close, personal, and loving bond with the team and I had the same with the drama department. I would talk to so many people at school, and develop bonds with people who I had passed assumed, never knew of my existence.
Raymond and I became very well known and the more we shared our story with others, the more people began to realize what Liam and Aaliyah had done. Me and Aaliyah hadn't officially called it off until she broke the news to me that she had slept with a senior in the school by the name of Kyle Cline, she also became very aware of my growing popularity, my social stance with upper class men, and her downfall.
She would complain to me about such things, stating that she couldn't understand how I could move on from her so fast. As if she hadn't given me about three or four months to do so. She then revealed that she left to gain popularity, but then was upset that she was coming to live in my shadow... Karma has mysterious ways. Liam would often look at me with a hate in his eyes when he saw me. I reunited with friends from my old school as well.
At this point, my life was turned around, I had come a very long way. From being haunted by very real demons, to becoming who I am today. No one talks of Aaliyah Riddle much anymore, as her actions have earned her a place in which she is. I have forgiven Liam and he talks to me again. I have many friends that I wouldn't trade for the world, and have accomplished so much without what I once thought I needed to survive. Many memories of hugs, laughter and fun times with the track team and drama department, and a well respected name amongst my sophomore class.
Life has been a long ride, and I'm very excited for what the future holds for me now. I wouldn't change a thing about what happened, because it molded me into who I am today, it taught me a valuable lesson on life and death, and to never take life for granted. You can change your situations, it just starts with the choice... Yes the choice... Of being happy.
