Chapter 1: Going to Berk

Merida's P.O.V
       I wake up and I feel the warm sun tickling my nose. "I can't wait to go to Berk and see Hiccup." I say excited. So I get up and start packing my things I will need for the trip. I also bring my bow and arrows, just in case. Then my mum walks in to make sure I'm already to go. "Are you ready, dear?" She says.  I grab my bow and arrows and swing them over my shoulder. "Yes, mum. I'm ready." I say. So me, my mum, my dad, and my three brothers get on the ship and set sail for Berk. We finally see land and I start getting really excited. We dock the boat and get off.
      I grab my luggage and we start walking. Stoick, Hiccup's dad greets us from the long journey. My dad and Hiccup's dad are best friends. "I'm glad you made it safely. Your cabin you will be staying is up there." Stoick says. We follow Stoick to the cabin and we settle in. "Merida, did you pack your fancy dress for the celebration for the return of Hiccup's mother?" Mum says questionly. I go through my things and pull it out. "Yes, mum. I did." I say showing it to her. I go into the room I'm sleeping in and change into the dress. A few minutes later my mum comes in to see if I'm finished getting dressed.

    "How do I look mum?" I ask turning in a circle. My mum walks around me like she always does when she trying to think. "You look beautiful, my dear. Now come on we don't want to be late for the celebration." Mum says. We go on down to the square and I look around to see if I can see Hiccup, but I can't. "I don't see Hiccup anywhere." I say standing on my tip-toes to see over the crowd. Then all of a sudden I bump into someone and fall down to the ground. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you and make you fall. Are you okay?" Someone says. I look up to see who I bumped into and it was a girl viking.
      She reached her hand out to help me up and I grabbed it and she help me onto my feet. "It's okay. I wasn't watching where I was going. And yes, I'm fine." I say wiping the dirt off of my dress. "I'm Princess Merida of Dunbroch. What's your name?" I ask her. She looked at me with a smile on her face. "I'm Astrid. Oh, the celebration is starting I better go. It was nice meeting you, Merida." Astrid says walking away. I turn just in time before Astrid walks away. "It was nice meeting you too, Astrid."
               I yell.  She turns and waves good-bye. Then a fire was lit in one of the big torches. It was Hiccup's dad who lit the big torch. "Hello, everyone. And welcome to the celebration for the return of Hiccup's mother, Valka. Now let the celebration begin." Stoick said proudly. When I looked up on the platform where Hiccup's mom and dad stood I saw Hiccup. But he wasn't alone. He was with Astrid. And he kissed her right on the lips. I was so upset that I ran into the forest.
