Chapter 2: Bad idea, Hiccup

Merida's P.O.V
      I started running to the forest and then I heard Hiccup yell my name. "Merida, Wait!! Astrid, I will be right back." Hiccup says concerned. But I don't look back. I've got to get away from Hiccup or hide until he gives up. So I found a big rock beside a tree and hid behind it. Then I heard Hiccup's footsteps. "Merida! Merida!" Hiccup says. Then I hear his footsteps go back up the path. A few minutes later I hear footsteps. I don't know who it is. But then a head looked straight at me and it was my friend, Abigail.
       I started to cry and she pulled me into her arms. "Oh, Merida. Come here. It's okay. Hey, just forget about Hiccup. He's not worst your time. Come on let's go back up to the celebration." Abigail said comforting me.
I loved having Abigail as my best friend. I don't know what I would do without her. "Okay." I say. So we both go back up the path, but halfway there Hiccup jumps out from behind a big rock. "Merida! Can I speak with privately please?"

          Hiccup says.  I look at Abigail because I really don't want to talk to Hiccup after all that has happened. "Just leave, Merida alone Hiccup." Abigail says forcefully. I look over at Hiccup and he looks at Abigail with face of concern. "Abigail, your a reasonable person. Please let me talk to Merida alone." Hiccup begs.  Abigail looks at Hiccup with a weird look on her face. "Fine. Merida, I will be waiting for you at the drink table." Abigail says. Abigail walks off and then I hear her footsteps go away. "What's wrong?" Hiccup says with concern.
    I look at Hiccup and he has this look of concern on his face. "What's wrong with me! I haven't seen you in 3 years and you ask me what's wrong. Not even a hello, or how have you been. I was really excited to see you when I got to Berk. But when I saw you on that platform kissing your girlfriend. It looked like you forgot all about me." I said sadly. It's like he never cared about me. "No, never! I would never forgot about you." Hiccup says coming closer to me. I thought I believed him, but now that he said that and that he kissed his girlfriend while I saw it. I don't believe any word he is saying.
     "Well, it seem like it. Sigh. I liked you, not like a friend, but more than a friend. Ever since I met you, I had a huge crush on you. But now it looks like you don't have the same feelings for me." I say backing away from him. My eyes start to water again. But I blink the tears away. "I didn't know. But, I like you too. But um just as a um friend."  Hiccup says quietly. That does it. I knew he didn't like me. I should have know it from the start.
       "What happened to you? Whenever I needed a friend, you were there for me. Whenever I was upset or I had something on my mind, you were there for me. Now it seems like you were never there for me. What happened that made you change? Was it because of your dragon?" I said angrily. I could see that Hiccup was getting a little annoyed with me. "Don't talk bad about Toothless." Hiccup said in his calmest voice. I was really angry and upset with him. I know anyone would be. "Or was it your girlfriend, Astrid?" I said angrier. I had enough with Hiccup.
      He always wants to make things right. "Listen to me!" Hiccup yells at me. I was so angry that I didn't want to listen to him anymore. "No! I don't want to listen to anything you have to say." I say angry. I start to walk back up the path back to the celebration. But before I could go, I feel Hiccup grab my hand and pull me to him and he kisses me right on the lips. But I was so angry with him that I couldn't accept it. "NO! I don't accept it. Just leave me alone." I said pushing away from him.  I felt like that kiss didn't matter to me at all.
        Then I hear footsteps running to me. "Hiccup! That's enough!" Abigail says forcefully. I was shocked that Abigail was spying on me and Hiccup. But I didn't care. I was just glad she came. Hiccup looked just as shocked as I did. "How did you get here?" Hiccup says looking at her suspiciously.  
              "I had a feeling that something was wrong with Merida. Now, just leave her alone." Abigail says.

Hiccup's P.O.V

  I was so upset with Merida. I can't believe she didn't accept the kiss. I just don't feel like facing Astrid right now. I think I'm going to take a ride on Toothless. So I go back up to my house. I see Toothless and he starts going crazy and jumping on me. "Okay, Toothless. Okay. I missed you too buddy. Come on, Toothless. We are going on a ride." I say. But then I hear the door open and I see it's just my mom. "Where do you think you are going? Aren't you going back to the celebration?" My mom says questionly.
       I really didn't want to explain to my mom what happened between me and Merida. "No, mom. I don't feel like going back." I say convinced enough. I try to push my way through the conversation. But I knew it would never work. I looked at my mom and she was giving me that look. "Why? What happened?" My mom says concerned. But if I didn't tell her what was wrong, she would never let me out of the house until I told her. "I had some trouble with a friend, my best friend." I says frustrated. I wasn't really happy that me and Merida got into an argument. "Really! Who, dear?"
      My mom says curiously. There she goes again with the face of concern. "Um, a Scotland girl." I say. I thought my mom didn't know me and Merida were friends. But I guess I was wrong. "You mean Merida?" My mom says. I was in shock that she knew her name. "How did you know?" I ask. She must have been friends with Merida's mom. "Well, Merida's mom told me that you two are really good friends. So, tell me. What happened between you and Merida?"
        She asked.  So, I told her everything that happened the argument between me and Merida, the kiss, and the stuff before that. "I really want to get her back, but I don't know how." I say sadly.

Oh, man. Climax has approached. What a drag. Do you guys think Hiccup gets Merida back? Or will he lose Merida forever? Find out on the next part.
