Hiccup's P.O.V
I felt so bad for telling Merida that I liked her just as a friend. I feel so stupid for saying that to her when I actually like her. I had almost forgot that my mom was in the room with me. "Then talk to her." She says. My mom didn't know that it's not so simple to talk to Merida anymore. "I tried to, but she didn't listen to me." I say annoyed.  I just wish everything was back the way it was before. When me and Merida were friends. "Then show her you love her." She said.  Then my mom gave the courage to do just as she said. I would show Merida and if it worked she would trust me again and everything will be back to normal. "You're right. Thanks, mom."
I say as I kissed her on the cheek. I run out of the house to find Merida. I already had a plan in mind to help Merida trust me again. I go back to the celebration and start looking for Merida. I then see her red hair that I always loved. But then I see her talking to Abigail. So, I take a deep breath and say her name. She turns and looks at me like she doesn't know me. I hate when she does that. "What do want, Hiccup?" She says annoyed. I take another deep breath, just to try not and scream it at her. "Meet me in the forest." I say calmly. I turn around but listen to the conversation before, I went to get Toothless.
"What did he say?" Abigail said suspiciously. "He told me to meet him in the forest." Merida says. Then I took off to the house and got Toothless out and flew him to the spot where me and Merida argued. A few minutes later, I heard some footsteps. I knew those were Merida's footsteps. Then there she is standing in front of me, she looked like she was waiting for me to say something. Then I got my courage back up. "Okay. So, I've decided that we um. Well, since you haven't rode on Toothless in a while. I think it's only fair to give you a ride on Toothless. Since you guys haven't seen each other in a while." I said encouragingly.
I looked at Merida to see if she up for it. She looked at like she wasn't really impressed. "Okay, fine." She said. So, I go to get Toothless.
And of course he's rolling in the tall grass. "Toothless, come on. Someone is here to see you." I say. Toothless gets up and looks at me with curiosity. I walk him past a tree and then Toothless sees Merida. And he tills his head to the side. "Hey, Toothless. You remember Merida right?" I ask him.
Toothless goes over to Merida and sniffs her all the way around. Then when he knows who it is, he jumps on top of Merida and starts to lick her face. Then when he hears Merida telling him to get off. He starts to run around. "Eww, Toothless. Get off. I'm coming to get you. Hey, come back here." Merida says laughing.  I look at them and remember something from when we hanged out. "Laugh. Sigh. It feels just like the old days all over again. Okay you two quit clowning around and let's go." I say.
Toothless stops what he's doing comes over to me. I climb up on his back to sit down. "You ready, Merida?" I say. I hold out my hand to help her up on Toothless. "Yes, I'm ready." She says. But she slaps my hand and gets on herself. "Alright, Toothless. We got a bit of work to do." I say hoping that he understands. Toothless looks up at me and understands. "Okay, let's go." I say. We take off into the sky and I look over my shoulder at Merida, she's holding onto me super tight.
I'm use to it. Because she did that the first time she ever rode on Toothless. We fly higher into the clouds and this is when Merida closes her eyes. Then we are above the clouds. "Merida, open your eyes." I say happily. I look over my shoulder to look at Merida. "Gasp! Wow! It's so beautiful up here." She says calmly. I look back at Merida and she's putting her hand in the air and the cloud went right through her finger tips. "Okay, Toothless. Time to go over to that cliff." I say pointing to the cliff.
Then Toothless flies downward and lands on the cliff. "Great job, Toothless." I say patting him. I look over at Merida and I just stare at her in awe. I just love the way she moves her head and her hair shifts with her. Her blue eyes tell everything from left to right. "Thanks, Hiccup. That was so much fun riding on Toothless. I missed doing that. Wow, the view from up here is so beautiful." She says. I looked at her and thought the view from here is as beautiful as you are. But I didn't want to say that because I didn't know if she was still angry at me. "You're welcome. Yes, the view from up here is beautiful."
I say not looking at her. I turn around to feed Toothless. Because I had a bag of fish for him to eat. So I gave him one. Then I looked over at Merida and she was looking around like crazy. "Hiccup, do you know where we are?" She says looking around. I was surprised that she still remember this place. "Yeah, we are at Dragon's Cliff." I say like it isn't a big deal but it is. I got up and walked over to her and she blushed when I got close to her. "This is where we last saw each other before we left and never saw each other until 3 years later. And here we are again." She said calmly looking up into my face.
I knew I was going to have to tell her sorry soon. So, did it right now. "Yeah. Look, I'm sorry about the kiss. From a few hours ago. I shouldn't have done that." I say looking down at the ground. I turn back around to get the journal from Toothless's pouch on the saddle. I pulled it out and opened it. "It's okay. Hiccup, what is that you have in your hand?" She says surprised. I smile to myself again. Because I'm surprised that she still remembers it.
"Don't you remember this? This is the journal I kept notes about dragons in. Hey, remember this?" I say showing her the picture I drew of her from a few years ago. "Yes, I remember the drawing and the journal. That's why I asked. But I didn't know you still had the drawing." She says quietly. I knew I had to tell her how I felt. If I didn't then I would never be able to tell her. "Sigh. Merida, listen. I've kept this drawing of you for a long time. Ever since I drew it, I couldn't stop thinking about you. You were always on my mind 24/7. I lied to you today. That I just like you as a friend. That's not true. I do like you more than ever. But when you told me you liked me, I was speechless. I couldn't think of anything to say. So, now that it's over and done with. I like you."
I say looking into her beautiful blue eyes. I thought she would be mad at me but she wasn't she was smiling and curious. "Really?! I didn't know that, Hiccup. But why didn't you tell me that in the forest a few hours ago when I told you I liked you?" She said calmly. And here we go again. She acts like it's that simple to tell someone you like them. "Because I thought you wouldn't believe me when I said it. Because I had just lied to you that I liked you just as a friend." I said looking down at the ground. I feel so much better for taking all of that weight off my shoulders from telling Merida how I felt about her. "Well, Hiccup. There's something else I need to tell you." She says nervously.
I was a bit confused on what she was talking about. "What is it?" I ask curiously. I looked over at her with curiosity, she looked like she was having trouble deciding whether to tell me or not. "Sigh, I...I." She says nervously. I was really confused on what she was trying to say. "You what?" I say curiously. I knew she would get a little annoyed at me for not understanding what she's saying. "I lo..ve y..ou." She says nervously. I couldn't believe my ears on what she said but I wanted to hear her say it again. "Wait, say that again but all together." I say grinning from ear to ear.
Now I could really see that Merida was getting annoyed at me. "I said I love you!" She said. I was speechless. I didn't know she felt about me that way. "You do!? Merida, I love you too." I said smiling. I walk over to her and hold her face in my hands and kissed her on the lips. And this kiss felt so much better than the last one. Because she kisses me right back. "Wow! I actually enjoyed that one. That was our real first kiss." She says speechless.
Then I saw her pull away from me. "But what about your girlfriend, Astrid? What will she say about this?" She says confused. I look at Merida. The way she looks at me with those beautiful blue eyes just makes me go in awe over her. "I will just tell Astrid that she's not the right girl for me. She will understand." I say. Merida looks up at me with something on her mind. Because I can tell the way she looks at me. "Okay. But how long do you think our relationship will last?" She says. I knew she was going to ask that so I say something that just takes her breath away.
"Merida! Look at me. I will always love you, our love is also eternal. And I will never let you go. And that's a promise." I say proudly.
