Alice
Blue eyes widened. I stood up suddenly and stopped by the window ... What the hell. " Are there some visits here, we should know? " I asked to my family, knowing that they could hear me from here as I could here them from there.
I heard noises downstairs and Esme, my mother replied " No. .. Not that we know dear, why? " And in a second she was in my room at my side. " You had a vision, Alice? " She looked worriedly at me and I shooked my head.
I walked to my balcony and sat on the ledge, smelling the scent of new vampires and my mother seemed to realize it because she then sat next to me. " I can smell them but that's not the weird part .... Can't you smell something else .... It smells fantastic but it doesn't maker me thirsty " I said, my eyebrows knitted in confusion.
Esme sniffed again and then nodded " Yes ... but it doesn't smell so fantastic to me " she said in confusion until she seemed realized something and then got up and left the room in less than a second.
Yes .. My family is made by vampires, including me. My name is Alice and I have more than 300 years. In all these years I never found my mate and it is almost like living in a world without love, is like walking around without a soul and without purpose.
Fortunately, the same didn't happen with my family. Esme, my mother, is mated with Carlisle, my father and the leader of the group. Rosalie, my sister is mated with Emmett, who is also my brother while Jacob, a werewolf, is mated with Edward, my twin. I am the only one in this family that hasn't a mate and sometimes I feel lonely but ignore it because I know that my mate's out there.
Someone knocks on my door and I say that they can enter. What I wasn't expecting was to find my whole family there. Luckily my room is huge and they all fit in there, ending with me sitting on the porch with Esme sitting next to me. Rosalie in my bed with face of disinterest, Emmett cuddling with her. Carlisle was leaning on the porch in front of me and Esme while Edward and Jacob sat in my love seat... All looking at me....Could it be more weird?
Despite being a vampire, this silence is stressing me out. " Well .. Do you want to tell me what the hell is going on ... I don't like being in the dark, guys " I laughed sheepishly. They seem to understand it and relaxed. Carlisle went instantly to the subject, pushing himself away from the porch.
He cleared his throat and rubbed his neck, something strange and unnecessary since we are vampires " Well, Alice, Esme told me something earlier " he said uncomfortably. I raised my eyebrow and he continued " Esme told me about a fantastic feeling you felt earlier " I nodded and he hesitated. Oh for fucks sake, tell me already!!
Edward seemed to understand my message and spoke instead of the Carlisle " What Carlisle means to say is that we think that smell comes from your mate " I looked mindlessly at him with a face 'Are you serious' and they all nodded. .. Even Rosalie ...!
I started to stutter " But ... But ... How can it be possible ..? It doesn't make any sense! I haven't even seen it ... How can you be sure? " If I were still human I would have entered into hyperventilation .. Is it possible? After all these years ... I finally fond my mate.
And suddenly I feel like crying, dropping my head down for no one to see me in this state of vulnerability. " Shorty. .. It's completely normal .. Think about it .. After so many years you'll finally have your mate .. Now it's just a matter of time " Jacob assured me while Esme embraced me.
I smiled lovingly to them and rested my head on Esme shoulders " My mate must be the reason why my visions aren't working " I offered and Carlisle nodded. I sighed, looking outside " My mate " I said gently, putting a hand on my heart, even though it didn't beat ... It felt pretty closed to it.
