“Are you going to stay calm now?” The clear voice cut through the hazy cover which was smothering me. I opened my eyes to see the doctor leaning over me; we were still in the van. “Kira?” That was the guard talking, I slowly began to sit up, and both of the men watched me calculatingly.

“Where’s Alice?” I asked, both men tensed suddenly, waiting for me to lash out. “Where is she?!” I screamed, they looked at each other worriedly,

“Kira, we don’t want to have to drug you again. Just sit down and relax, your sister is safe.” The guard warned me politely. I searched his eyes, to see if he was lying, but he wasn’t.

“Why can’t I see her now?” I asked, why couldn’t I remember when I last saw her. I remember her hugging a man who was carrying her, but that was it.

“Kira, your sister isn’t with us right now” The doctor said.

“Who was the man carrying Alice, why can’t I remember when I last saw her?” I asked fearfully, it wasn’t right. I should be able to remember. The doctor looked worried, like he didn’t know how to explain something, almost stressed.

“The man carrying Alice was there to help her, and you can remember the last time you saw her, you just can’t remember that that was the last time. It’s a side-effect of the drug, it’ll wear off soon.” He said calmly. I started to freak out; I wanted to see my sister. Both men looked on at me with interest, trying to work out what was wrong with me. The doctor looked at the guard waiting for a sign, when I tensed and nearly lashed out the guard turned to the doctor and nodded. This time I did lash out, whatever he had just agreed to would be bad for me. I went straight for the doctor, knowing he would be the one to administer the drug to me, before I had even nearly attacked him I was shoved back against the seat and pinned down. The doctor was quick to ready the needle and waited to be told to do it.  With another quick nod from him, I felt a sharp pain in my arm. Both men pulled back once the needle had been removed from my body, I instantly went to attack them my body wasn’t responding.

“You want to curl up and go to sleep” Said the guard in the same voice, but this time I found myself wanting to curl up and sleep. I went to curl up, only to realise that I had already pushed myself in the corner and was curled up holding my knees. “You want to sleep” he repeated. I looked at him in horror, what was in that drug.

When we arrived the guard gently grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the van, I stumbled but the guard held me up. I watched the doctor walk off to another car that had just pulled up. The same guy holding my sister got out of the car, she was crying as the doctor injected something into her.  I looked up at the guard in horror as he held me tighter. I tugged at his grip hoping to break it. Instead I was pulled off to the opposite direction of my sister. I was pulled through double doors, where the guard paused to talk to the receptionist. Then I was led off down the hall kicking and screaming for my sister, or at least that was what I was trying to do. It was more me pulling slightly in the opposite direction. I turned to see the man still holding my little sister

“ALICE!” I managed to scream, but that was the last I saw of her because I was shoved into a room. I wanted to make a racket, break the door down and get to my sister, but I couldn’t bring myself to raise my arms. Instead I laid down on the metal bed and let sleep over come me.

“She is sleeping off the drugs, why did you give her so many? You know it’s dangerous especially for someone her size and age” A voice drifted through my dreams and brought me back to the world.

“She wouldn’t calm down, and the drugs weren’t making her unresponsive enough.” Another voice replied. “It was the only way to get her here safely” he concluded.

“Kira, can you hear me?”  The first voice asked tentatively. Instead of slowly stretching out and waking up, I shot up realising that they were in MY room! Except, when I looked around the room, it was white just plain white with white furniture.

“Uhh” confusion circling my head, I tried to think back to yesterday but it was clouded and unsure. “Where is my sister?” I asked, “How did I get here?” I asked more stressed then I was before, she was always with me except when I was at school.

“Ahh, good Kira, how old is Alice” This was the second man, the man who had drugged me. Without a second thought I lunged at him, he drugged me! He drugged my sister! Before I was even in arms reach of him the guard from yesterday stepped in and pushed me back onto the bed.  “Kira, you have to behave before we let you roam around the centre and see your sister” the doctor scolded. “Now her age Kira” he inquired. I backed myself slowly into the corner of the bed far away from them all.

“Never, we shouldn’t even be here” I said bravely, but I couldn’t have been more scared.

“Get her something to eat” the doctor said to the guard who disappeared for a moment and came back with food. Which he left on the floor near the bed I was sitting on.

“You can’t do this! You have no right to her!” I screamed at them, how come they had the right to everything, but we had the right to nothing?

“Kira, if you don’t give us her age, we will do an operation to find out her exact age. And it is a very painful operation Kira; do you want your sister to be in pain?” He told me calmly, he slowly turned to leave the room.

“No, you can’t hurt her. You can never hurt her!” I cried as I tried to jump him. But the guard was faster than me and had already pushed me back on the bed.

“Then tell me how old she is or I shall start the operation. I’ll have to drill into four of her bones to do it, with no anaesthetic. Most likely her small fragile bones will break when I do this and she shall be in a cast for weeks.” he said politely,

“Four” I sobbed. “She’s four” the man smiled and nodded to the guard once, then left the room.

“Eat” the guard commanded; I looked at the sausages and mash in disgust, quickly pushing the food away. The guard grunted in annoyance as he pushed the food back towards me. Before leaving the room, I could hear the dead bolt lock.  I looked around the room; it had a metal bed frame, with white sheets and a stainless steel toilet.  There was a large light in the ceiling, but no camera in view. There had to be one here, I stood up on the bed and reached the light. The screws were falling out and light shade barely fitted. It took a few minutes and a few nails to fully extract the screws. Each one hitting the floor with a high pitched ding. The light shade fell to the ground before I could catch it, shattering into small pieces. Right next to the light bulb was a camera staring intensely at me. I sat back on the bed, my back wedged between the corner of the walls and the bed, I watched it back.
