I have a friend who I have been BFF's with for my whole life. He is a year older than me (14) and I think he is quite cute. I want to ask him out, but I don't want things to get awkward! HELP!

Dear Confused,
At first I would slowly start giving small hints. Sometimes this doesn't work because boys can just be so dense. I can truly say I understand why you wouldn't want it to be awkward or ruin the friendship. You can even do small things like going to the movies and things just as friends at first so it wont be considered a 'date'. Also if you have any friends in common you can have them ask him what he thinks of you.
