I slowly opened my eyes to see him, the one I dreaded the most! I wondered to myself what was he doing in my apartment; I didnt invite him nor did I let him in. But how could he have known where I lived.
"Open your eyes and look at me" he commanded.
Breaking my chain of thought, reluctantly I did and there he was. He defined fine in every areas. His body, his beauty, his voice tormented my soul.
"What time is it?" I asked.
He didnt respond he just glared at me with tension and anger in his eyes. I got up and was strolling towards my phone when he asserted me to stop.
"Its sometime after 4 in the morning
"
"Why are you here?"
"Well such a nice apartment needs much better locks, it only took few seconds to get in."
"Why are you here?" I asked again more sternly.
And again he didnt respond. Get out of my apartment I commanded.
He didnt flinch, he just crossed his legs to the left instead, leaning against the table.
"Where were you at this morning Miss Hills?"
"Excuse me!"
And he asked the question again more sternly.
And again Anna ignored it.
"Miss Hills, you seem to like playing games."
"I dont know who you are and you need to leave."
"Well then Miss Hills, have it your way this time."
With that said Drew headed towards the door after glaring at Anna.
Who is this man, to barge into my apartment and demand of me. I went to check the door and the locks were intact he must have gotten a key. But where, it couldnt be the landlord after all this man is wealthy.
I couldnt sleep, I stayed up all morning pondering why he was here. Ever since he came into my life I have been struggling emotional. I forced myself to forget him from our first encounter and I did. But since the dinner he has taken over my mind, my dreams and my body and I cant. I am trying to fight back the emotions the tears and I just cant.
Anna's phone began ringing.
"Hey Jade, how are you?"
"I am ok Anna, just checking up on you."
"I am fine, any plans for the few days?"
"Planning to travel to Jamaica for the weekend, with bae."
"Ok hun, laters. Love you."
Anna ended the call with Jade. She felt so lonely, she was overwhelmed by two men and she wasnt sure either cared a bit about her.
Weeks passed and the University reopened and Anna was back to her busy work schedule with her students. She hadnt heard from Mr Heus since the dinner in december nor seen Drew and it was now February.
Valentine's day at that. Anna left  work about 5pm and stopped at the movie cinema. But all the movies were sold out and after all it was the usual fairytale romance in theaters. She left for the sports bar to have a drink. Couples surrounded her drinking and making out. It made her feel left out. She had hated Valentine's day, she had never celebrated any with any guy as she was either to focused on being honour roll or heart broken. And again this one she was alone, focusing on her career. After few drinks she headed home. She was light headed and few drinks made her weak and faded. She struggled with opening the locks and then eventually the door swung open. She headed for her bedroom and went straight to the shower. After some time she was wrapped in her towel heading out of the shower to get dress for bed.
As she entered the bedroom she saw him standing in the door way. And in a state of fright the towel hiding her inner most beauties fell to the ground revealing her nakedness. She was so stunned to see him.
Drew looked at her nakedness with intense passion and infatuation. He realised her state of shock and stepped towards her attempting to wrap her up with the towel. And it was his touch that made her in a sense returned back and she grabbed the towel from him to hid herself.
"Cant I get enough of you." She screamed.
Drew smiled seductively at her, further infuriating her anger.
"I want you out of this apartment this minute. Or so help me God I will throw you out myself!"
"I dare you!"he retorted in a seductive tone.
"What is wrong with you. Why are you here. Cant you just leave me alone?"
He could hear the frustration and irritation in her voice. And he felt pitiful towards her.
"This is why... From I met you at that business party I knew I needed you. Every inch of you. What happened was, the day after coffee spilled on my phone and I lost your contact. For the whole week perceeding you were on my mind slowly driving me crazy. And I thought we would never see each other again so I forced myself to forget you. But since coming to the party, I remembered you I remembered it all."
"Drew!"
"Anna. I want you."
"Are you out of your mind?...What would a millionaire be doing with me? I am not the girl you want me to be."
"You are everything I want you to be. My mind, my soul, my body craves for you. You are just perfect the way you are."
"I cant!"
"Why? What are you afraid of Anna?
"Please leave."
Drew slowly turned away and left Anna's apartment. Anna hadnt fully realize how honest and deeply in love Drew was with her. She forced herself to believe he was lying.
I wasnt his type. I couldnt be. I wasnt one bit petite, I had curves, kinky hair and I was black. I wouldnt fit into his life of luxury and wealth.
Drew called Anna everyday and she never answered. And over the course of weeks the calls got less until they eventually ceased. She knew he would return for she had ignored him at every chance.
It was June now. The college year had ended and after all it was a successful one for Anna. She had no plans with her girlfriends but she was tired so she left work early to head home and rest.
She arrived home some minutes later; ordered a movie and pizza then went upstairs. And there Drew was sitting on her bed with teary eyes. Anna was shocked and rushed towards him with sympathy.
"What is wrong?" She demanded.
But Drew didnt respond nor even looked up at her.
And she asked again "Why are you crying?"
"I saw her with him."
"Who?"
"My wife...She was in bed with my brother."
"My God Drew. I am so sorry."
"All this time I tried to love her but all she did was flare and flare."
I saw the devastation and hurt in his eyes. And I wanted to take it away and replaced it with comfort. Somewhere deep in my heart wanted to hold him, to craddle him and take away this hurt.
"You can stay here with me if it makes you feel better."
He looked at me with a stunned gaze as if he couldnt imagine I could show him such humility and kindness.
"I wanted to kill them both. I wanted to tear her apart. But as I moved towards them, you flashed before my eyes reassuring me it wasnt worth it. So I left and came here."
Anna smiled nervously.
"I am not sure that I will stay."
"Why did you come here then?"
The door bell rang signifing that the pizza arrived. I went downstairs and collected it.
"Not sure... But do you want pizza?
"No thank you."
"Do you want me to cook something for you?"
Anna, though she did culinary courses at college didnt like cooking. She had always hated it. But now she was offering to cook for her strange lover.
"You cook." Drew amusingly shouted shocked at her offer. "No thanks hun I am heart broken not mad!"
Anna was insulted by his remark and wanted to prove him wrong.
"Dare me to it." She offered.
"Thats ok."
Anna had successfully changed his mood. And she was happy. She then offered him to watch the movie she had selected and he accepted.
"Perfect Guy, thats the movie." Anna said.
Two hours later and the movie ended.
"Anna, that was a really good movie."
Anna blushed at his remark. Then a awkward silence erupted in the room. They were locked in a gaze staring at each other, as if they were searching each other's soul to see if what they were feeling was real.
Then Drew reached forward and placed his lips on Anna's. Slightly stunned by his move she got up.
"Anna! Why are you rejecting what is real."
"This cant be real. How can I love someone who belongs to another."
"I only belong here with you."
And with that said Drew stood up and walked towards Anna. As he reached forward she step backward into the wall. She was backed up against the wall and Drew stood infront of her.
"Drew I cant. You are married."
"Stop thinking about that. You are here with me, we are craving for each others' touch. Why deny our hearts and body anymore."
Anna bit her lip in response. And Drew knew she wanted him just as how he wanted her. He slowly brought his lips to hers. And Anna slowly opened her mouth to receive his. The kiss was intense and erratic and Anna felt her body crying out for more. Drew took her in his arms and headed up the stairs with her. He laid her on the bed. And began slowly undressing her. She was left in her undergarments alone. He saw in her eyes how nervous and innocent she looked.
"Drew."
"Yes Anna?" He panted.
"I cant!"
